Well, actually it was from Acid Bath to Agents of Oblivion to this. Over all the different albums you can sort of hear the change in his style take hold. It really was natural for him.

Dax and the guitarist for Acid bath, always loved southern music and you and hear it in acid bath songs they of a hand in writting. Dead Girl, Venus Blue, Bones of Baby Dolls.

In a way it makes sense that he would be playing bluesy songs, but it I agree it really is poppy. I still like it though.

I absolutely love everything Dax puts out, though I am a bit iffy about We Are Night Sky. Being a rather recent fan of any music (currently 9th grade, started listening to music seriously about a year ago), I can't say I'm an expert, but the sound was progressing very naturally up until WANS. My personal favorite was Daisyhead, I love the cover of Ziggy Stardust. 

Strangely, the most obvious change for me is how his lyrics have lost the disturbing edge they used to have. He's not as dark.

I prefer We Sing of Only Blood Or Love to We Are Night Sky. I noticed, to much dismay, that Dax's voice is somewhat back in the mix on WANS. I believe that any band/project with Dax (excluding AoB and Acid Bath) should be solely and entirely focused on Dax's voice.

Dax has had lineups that were wayyyy better then this one. I remember an electric guitarist back in 04 that he played with that also did keys. That guy was amazing. Now hes got the girl and she was probably a huge part of him finally getting the record deal that he wanted. Her boobs bouncing are great, and shes not a bad drummer

Yeah they're pretty fun too! This was the 2nd time I've seen them. I saw them at the Cat's Cradle, I think opening up for Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks. They're also going to be at ACL2006 (Austin City Limits) in September and I'm hoping to see them there too...
