This was a first-time event held at the recently completed Place Des Festivals area right next to the Contemporary Art Museum, corner St-Catherine Street West and Jeanne-Mance Street.
It seems that the Vixia and the EU version have some differences in setup, I do not have the 1/30 shutter speed setting but 1/25 in TV mode and in all other modes where I can change the exposure manually!
This is normal. The European TV system displays 50 images per second while the North American TV system displays 60 images per second.
Technically, digital camcorders should be able to support ALL popular frame rates, but they're always adjusted to be as compatible as possible to the local TV system, probably so the manufacturers don't receive a ton of support calls from people saying they can't see the picture on their TVs. :)
