    MAC FOR LIFE!!!

  • interfacelift [dot] com

then click there are links on the top.

  • go david

  • What is that web site again????????

  • Wasn't very helpful, most of the mac community already know that.

  • Ok... and how do you Change it back???

  • Press Delete on your keyboard with the icon still selected and it should revert to the default.

  • can u add me on ur ps3 plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • I thought Mac was supposed to be easier than PC? o_O when I change my icons, I just save a picture, then open up icon tweaker and select the object I want changed, click apply. 3 Steps, easy. I use XP btw, not Vitsa, lol

  • There are applications to do this, such as CandyBar. I just wanted to show everyone the way Apple has it by default.

  • Oh I see, even on the default Windows exp I just right click on background, choose desktop tab, then press customize desktop, then I can choose an icon and change it for a picture I have downloaded, then click apply :P

  • Dave FTW!

We still haven't AC CF'ed yet :( Lol

    -Sam

  • cool how can u change it back to the original?

  • cmd + x , or cut

  • thx

  • Just select your icon so it is highlighted and press backspace!

  • Pixadex is better and easier

  • Pixadex is built-in in CandyBar 3.

  • I mean its better than doing it as its shown in the video, plus pixadex on its own is free

  • CandyBar FTW!!! Use that!

  • This even works with Mac OS 5 (and maybe prior)! :D

  • Great Job...

  • how do you change it back again dave?

  • i use candybar..better faster and i can do all at the same time not one by one..thats too much work when you have lots of icons..

  • is there a way to do this with PCs?

  • What a dumb question...sigh

  • Hi mate, I love your desktop wallpaper and I think this is a cool video highlighting some very interesting items. I love all that type of stuff.

  • nice tip Dave! Can you do a review on some of the games that you got? That would be cool

  • i was wondering how to do that lol

how do you get the icon back to the default thoe?

  • Click on the icon next to the title and hit delete or /Z.

  • By clicking edit and then cut, and the icon that you modified before will have the default icon view now.

  • could you upload a zip file of that folder of icons you have thanks

  • MAKE_MORE_VIDEO'S yours are like the only good ones in my subscriptions

  • thx....... very helpful....

  • Wow, thanks for the tip. I never thought about it tbh lol :)

  • hey david do you know what screwattack is?

  • your dock has allot of stuff on it... I like to keep as basic as possible.

  • yeah mine has finder, firefox and itunes... all i use

  • hey.. would u be able to change it back to the default icons???

  • yes, just choose the icon from the info menu again - and hit backspace...

  • - juz press delete on da curent icon. it'l change bak to default.

  • Nice, alot easyer then changing icons in windows.

  • ty david for once again a nice vid ive seen all ur vids and i just want to say that i love all ur vids and ur familly is hilarious xD ur the best =D

greetings from another mac and technology geek from holland ;D

  • What about application icons, any way to change it free?

  • yeah, you can do pretty much any icon easily (except for the finder, dashboard icon, trash....in which you will need to download candybar or the free alternative called liteicon) some applications may not change right away, make sure when you click "COMMAND i" that you click and unlock the lock button on the bottom right. You may also need to click the "+" button to add "me" and give yourself "read + write+ capabilities.

  • What if you just get an ICNS file? I have seen them before and that copy paste thing doesn't work.

  • or you can use candybar, which i strongly advise because candybar allows you to do it in large amounts of icons which by using your method will be a tedious task. anyways keep up the good vids bro!

  • holy crap alot of people watch his vids in a day

  • He has like a little more than 13,000 subscribers. That is why.

  • Very good point :P

  • xD Thanks. LOL

  • nice tip! diggin the background

  • Thanks David

  • how do u go back to the original icon if you wanted to?

  • u click the icon and highlight it (blue) and hit delete and it goes back to the original icon

  • Thanks, that website is awesome

  • how do i revert back ot the original icon after? thanks!

  • you just delete the old one. and it is back to normal

  • what is the web page?

  • y don't u just rewind

  • Dave likes em big... I mean icons LOL!

  • Sweet nice tip, and i am sure that must be your shortest video EVER!.

  • haha lol ure rite!!

but i still love ure vids dave!!

  • Copying the icon picture without opening will not work in every case. If you do that with some images it will sometimes paste as the a generic (depending on image format) page with PNG, TIFF, GIF, etc. stamped on it.

To fix this, you need to open the image in Preview, do command C and then Command I the file you want to change and paste.

  • DAVID!!!! its camden, idk if u remember me, but man its been 2 years, hows it going?

  • David Sounds mad different

  • Hi. This isn't regarding mac icons but I have a few questions.I just got a Macbook this past christmas. I feel it was money well spent but do you know any good websites for changing from windows to MAC OS X? My parents know nothing about Leopard or MACS. I am just looking for info.

  • go to the apple web site and search for leopard and there are tip videos that shows you how to use it.

  • also at the apple store they offer free lessons for people switching from windows. if you go to their website you can schedule yourself to go to one of the workshops

  • only for macs?

  • assuming you use windows

right click the icon you wanna change click properties, click customize, click change icon, choose a picture or click browse and find an icon (.ico) file

  • Macthemes 2.0 has the best mac icons around.

  • hey there! Where did you get that desktop background?

  • Thanks dave great video

  • aah, I've posted some wallpapers on that website!

  • I didn't even know this was possible for the longest time! I love that it is so easy to do!
