How about nearly every good game the genesis does, with better sound and graphics - AND MORE exclusives than the genesis had, Super Metroid, Final Fantasy, Link to the Past, Chrono Trigger, Yoshi's Island, Secret of Mana, Killer Instinct, Donkey Kong Country, Star Fox, Sim City, Mega Man, Mario Kart... the list goes on and on and these are MASSIVELY ACCLAIMED games.

Genesis has like five or six really good exclusives, and that's it.

@taicleis The Genesis had a much larger library than the SNES. It was cheaper, much better designed, and more durable. It had a better controller and faster processor. Sonic 1 was a far better game then Mario World, which is one of the weakest entries in the Mario series. Games cost less for Genesis. F-Zero has nothing on Monaco GP; Star Fox has nothing on Silpheed or Soul Star. As a matter of fact, there were many more first-party games for Genesis than SNES.

@bbutters2 no. the sega genesis would have not existed if it were not for nintendo The game crash pretty much ended gaming temporarily until the NES rose from the ashes and revived gaming. a year after the master system was born which led to the genesis and nintendo always did better the genesis tried to stay alive with the CD and 32X but failed the saturn failed and the dreamcast died with nintendo still in the race genesis wasn't that great the best thing about it was sonic.

@bbutters2 i'd actually have to disagree with you, the genesis is one of the best consoles, but it didn't quite match with snes. im not saying it didnt have some of the best games, it did, but super nintendo had way more better games. and mark from classic game room never owned a snes back then, so there is definitely some bias on that. while most people, such as myself, believe the snes is the best console ever made, the genesis still kicks a lot of ass.(better than sony stuff too!)

@tcdalton215 I was just agreeing with him, of course he is biased, I watch a lot of his channel and he says it all the time, that he was a Sega guy all his life and so was I, but I also had many friends with SNES consoles and I just think that when Genesis came out in 89", it was the freakin coolest thing ever from an unbiased point of view, when I heard of the SNES I just thought it was only there because Genesis started a wave of 16-bit greatness. They are both still great!

Well Altered Beast is not great but at the same time, when I turned on my Genesis for the first time I cannot describe how I felt seeing the parallax...it was like a new universe...not even the arcade has that.

So in that regards, it does have a special spot for me.

It came bundled with the system back then and only existed to show the graphical power of the 16-bit hardware. The gameplay wasn't anything special back then, and by todays standard it's just terrible. There are ALLOT of other games that could (and should) fill that spot.
