I have this phone, the camera is really bad!! and the picture quality is crap.. The camera on my old Qtek S200 is much faster! Some times the phone just don't recognize the SIM card.. and the virtual keyboard it isn't good! That's why the Iphone is so popular.. It's fast, pratical and don't have to many bugs!

the quality of the camera in fact is very very good... what makes it worse is the plastic lense they put in front to cover it and that's a shame. also the cam is not the quickest, very true.

I'm not say that Iphone is the best! My Htc Touch Hd have 4 months and already went to the repair.. The ROM isn't good.. have to many buggs! For exemple: I get sms 1h late.. some times the OS just crash! The camera is good outdoor, but inside it's sloow.. Tomorrow there I go again sending the phone to repair.. I hope this time they upgrade the ROM to a new version!

I'm in the exact same situation as you =P My phone died and I've been looking at these two as well as a replacement.

They are really really similar but the Touch Pro also does have the fifth row of keys on the qwerty keyboard so it gives you the row with numbers. I have also read that the Touch Pro is a bit nicer to type on that the Xperia X1.

Another difference is that screen resolution. The Touch Pro has a 480x640 resolution as apposed to Xperias 480x800.

Both nice phones either way.

Dude, you don't want the X1, it looks like a 1980s calculator. The buttons on that thing are actually a liability, not an asset. Look at the pictures; see how big the guy's fingers are compared to the buttons? The screen is an elongated rectangle. Personally, I think the HTC Touch HD, if it comes with Android, is going to be the closest to the iphone, perhaps even similar. The biggest difference between them would be the actual touch screen. The HTC is meant to be used with a stylus.

The phone is currently Euro/Asia Spec and no word about a US 3G model on the horizon. The phone is quad band so it would work on a GSM carrier in the USA, but it doesn't support our 3G networks. This means probably no SMS, MMS etc if you imported it.

Its not that its not 3G its that its Euro/Asia 3G. Their network runs on a different frequency so in the US it wouldn't have access. This might change though, HTC would be stupid to release this type of phone in a strictly euro-asia market. Sure there is a lot of buyers, but the US would add a lot. There are tons of people that want something other than the iphone.
