@pengunzrule9 My wife got me my first pellet gun for Christmas, and it is 17 years old with only 5 shots through it. It is the Feb. 1995 version Benjamin 397. I shoot wad cutters into an elm log at about 30 yards while breaking in the gun. The impact of the .177 wadcutter pellet into the log is a louder and sharper sound than the rifle.

it most likely goes slower than 800 fps just so you know..they advertise the speed higher than it is and if it shot faster than 800 then they would raise the advertised speed a lot more

I bought one of these 2 days ago and I went outside today and on the 2nd shot it broke. I didnt overpump or anything. Very disapointed with Benjamin. Taking it back to get a nicer break action.

You don't have to pump it 8 times you can just do 2 or 3 pumps for back yard shooting.

Benjamin .397 in .177 is rated at 800fps. I would have bought the steroid version of 397 in .22cal for $130 more if I were you. That rifle has about 3 times more power than this .177.

Also next time it would be a good idea to film during daylight. :)

ya, they are made by crosman so they dont really take that much time on craftsmanship. Benjamin sheridan is the high end version of crosman so they are nice, if you want a nice benjy, then get a Mac-1 modified one for 250. they are way mor powerful and make that 800 fps to about 1100! I am getting one for christmas.

Do you like it ? I have the same rig as you and I love my 397. I even shoot it more than my break barrel that's more powerful, check out my video I'm using the same ammo as you :) btw some of you that are in to power trips need to look at the advantages this rifle has over other air rifles.

no that's not true, crack down barrels are less accurate, because the barrel never ever fits the rest of the rifle perfectly, it may be very little but it does drop the accuracy. and i my view springers don't look as beatiful as this one

i have two benjamins one 347 in.117 that is over 30 years old and one 397 in .22 that is new and the 347 is the second most accurate air rifle i have ever shot, next to the AIRforce Condor(which no other air gun can compete with!)

I hide all the shit I need to hide in my tool shed or a hollowed out section of my Japanese Sword Package I know people though who hollow out a section of paneling for hiding stuff. If you really need to hide it in a small space get some old computer parts dismantle the gun (only if you can put it back together) and hide the pieces of the gun idividually.

why don't you further WHY it sucks? Because I own one, and I've sent 3000-4000 pellets through it and it works nearly perfectly, I just need to get a worn seal replaced to prevent occasional leaking. And let me tell you, I know accuracy, I represented my state on a national rifle team this year, and this rifle is ON. I can step back 50 feet and nail a quarter without touching the edge of it with the open sights. not bad for a sporter air rifle.
