Q: Would it not make more sense to flip Y and Z axis so you don't have clearance issues with your 'chuck'?

what CAM program did you use ? anything TRUE 4 or 5 axis out there for the home hobby guy?

So, you built your own CNC mill with even 5 axis, but have to stand by the side holding the vacuum - I love hobby projects with clearly defined priorities...
