I used to joke on college radio as to whether Midnight Confessions confirms to Miranda rights. Back in 1968, when this song came out in the fall, was before the Nixon-Burger Court perverted Miranda into prophylactic nonsense. Most American have no clue that Miranda rules confessions, so they miss the point that it is the Fifth Amendment against coercion, not "prophylactic".
Something about a record, a 45, makes one feel more involved! Wish I had those 45's bought as a young girl, I felt so grown up. Could listen in the record store b4 buying.
In Sept. of '68, we drove from Ohio to Texas for the World's Fair in San Antonio. This song and "Hey Jude" played about every 15 minutes on the radio. I still love this song, but I hate "Hey Jude" as a result!
@WABCRADIO77 That was just awesome, there is nothing like a 45rpm on the turn table. I still have my turn table. That was great to listen too. I always loved the grass roots..the mono sounds great!!! thanks
@vwest1ife, there were some ABC sides coming from the Roulette "Golden Goodies" series. That was one of the reasons for litigation against Roulette, upon which the label owner sold out to EMI.

I see you don't post very many female artists from that era. How about some Helen Reddy (i.e., Delta Dawn, Leave Me Alone etc.)

It's probably a re-issue.
If it's the mono mix, it's a keeper!
