Wait. Are the people in this thread actually referring to the whole "My pet ate my babys toes fingers over the course of several hours" thing? Ignoring the rottweiler that also lived with them? ignoring the fact a baby ferret cannot eat that much meat in that short of a timespan. Ignoring the fact that ferrets imprint on their food within the first 6 months? There were so many things wrong in that incident that pointed out the ferret as innocent that it's just BS.

@jadu1857 well I never heard of ferret eating whole baby and still google prove both of us right. Also, yes there are many of dog races, the difference is that dogs were used more as pets that ferrets, so they were trained into those races for purpose (hunting dogs, and so on). Still I accept ur oppinion of never accepting ferret as a pet.

Aaah, he's dookin' his little head off! A distressed ferret makes a very different sound, and an annoyed or angry ferret would be hissing like a kettle and maybe chattering. This one was having a blast chasing the squeakie. :)

Actually Fatbot1 is right. Ferrets dook for many reasons, but this one shows signs of being very annoyed. A squeaky toy sounds just like the distress calls baby ferrets make when they're first born. (there are several videos of new born ferrets squeaking on here). While it's true most ferrets don't show aggression and it isn't like whistling for a dog, it still hits a frequency that affects a ferrets ears. Squeakers are great for training a ferret to come, but excessive use is bad.

Hi, this video is adorable! But, the ferret isn't happy. Squeaky toys actually annoy them. They hit a frequency that bothers them for some reason. The first time I pulled out a squeaker for my two girls the dominant one started scruffing and dragging the other one around and quickly got overly aggressive. We did some research and learned that ferrets are very sensitive to squeakers and they shouldn't be over-used. They're great for finding a hiding ferret though.

@TheFatbot1 god theres always one person who has to get in their two cents when not needed....im 22 and ive had ferrets since i was 6..not once did our ferrets get aggressive over a squeaker...we trained them to come for treats with uit and they never beat eachother up...so whatever your doing is pissing them off and it aint the squeaker...cause even after training the ferrets would occasionally ignore it...

@TheFatbot1 It's possible you found a ferret that matched that, but no, that's not true of all, and it's pretty shabby reasoning to think it's true for all ferrets. Ferrets enjoy play, that's dooking in the video, and 'aggression' is something that can be controlled regardless with a bit of training. Some ferrets nip too hard or were never trained that human skin is much more sensitive than say the scruff of the back of a ferret's neck.
