Waid's work on Flash, Kingdom Come, etc, were brilliant. When I was 6, I read Waid's THE COMET. Waid only did dialouge for the first several issues and the book was okay. But later, Waid took over 100% of the writing and creative direction and the book turned into a terrifying, yet beautiful, roller coaster ride. In issues #12 - 18, he took everything from issues #1-5 and delivered some of the most SHOCKING plot twists I've seen. Simply beautiful stuff. I became a Waid fan after that.
