Actually, for me, the film cast Bush in a more positive light, especially in the scenes when he is meeting with his national security council. It really puts an emphasis on the fact that Bush was given inaccurate information by his advisors ( the CIA). People blame Bush for the war in Iraq, but he couldn't have done it alone- he had lots of help from his Cabinet and Congress.

I was pleasantly surprised with How Oliver Stone portrayed Bush in the Movie. It wasn't a left wing bashing like I thought it would be.
Oliver Stone didn't show him to be an idiot, or as a terrible President...He showed him as a man trapped in the shadow of his father whom he felt he could never live up to and a President who tried to make the world a better place but failed due to being unqualified for the job, which I think is accurate.

Actually, for me, the film cast Bush in a more positive light, especially in the scenes when he is meeting with his national security council. It really puts an emphasis on the fact that Bush was given inaccurate information by his advisors ( the CIA). People blame Bush for the war in Iraq, but he couldn't have done it alone- he had lots of help from his Cabinet and Congress.

I've never been a fan of Jr., although I disagreed strongly with the insults he had/has to endure, but the film helped me to see Bush in a more positive light and I was pleased that it wasn't an anti-Bush flick. I like balanced POVs and this was a good movie that did W. some justice. (I voted Gore in 2000 and Nader in 2004 & 2008, btw.)

You know...after seeing this movie, I'm actually kind of sympathetic towards Bush. Obviously, he should have NEVER been elected president, but he's not an evil man or anything like that. You also have to take into account all the shit he had to deal with: 9/11, the war, Katrina and the collapse of the financial market. Maybe a better president could have more deftly dealt with those issues, but you have to give him a break. Plus, he seems like a cool guy. Someone you'd like to drink with.

I was pleasantly surprised with How Oliver Stone portrayed Bush in the Movie. It wasn't a left wing bashing like I thought it would be.
Oliver Stone didn't show him to be an idiot, or as a terrible President...He showed him as a man trapped in the shadow of his father whom he felt he could never live up to and a President who tried to make the world a better place but failed due to being unqualified for the job, which I think is accurate.
It's a good movie for anyone who can be fair minded.

En realidad no los estoy comparando por sus decisiones políticas acertadas sino por aquellas MUCHAS que no han acertado, gracias a la estupidez de Bush se perdieron muchas vidas en la Guerra de Irak; por culpa de Chávez han habido muchas muertes también en Venezuela por ser el único presidente que ha logrado parciarlizar a los venezolanos con ideales mediocres de socialismo que al final lo que retratan es el comunismo en sí y muy distinto a lo que planteó Marx como ideología
