The way the trailer was filmed and executed was nice I guess, but I have no clue as to what this series has to offer me in the way of entertainment. I guess I'm just used to U.S. trailers that expose the entire plot or every good scene in order to sell people on a series or film.

@AKAPhilfish The most important thing is this is specifically a trailer for a later series, and Luther is a show you absolutely should not watch any of except by watching from the very beginning. Besides, the internet's great for finding out what the basic premise for a show is. I suggest doing that, then starting from...the start. If you're interested.

Also worth noting that in the UK Luther got a pretty big media blitz and the odds of someone over here not having at least a vague idea of what Luther is are pretty low. The trailer is ONLY for people who already know Luther and will recognize that it's referencing what a gloriously quick temper the guy has--one of his three or four most defining traits, I'd say, and his other traits would be far harder to base a teaser on.

Then someone told me about Luther as I'd bought the DVD's of the Wire in which Idris Elba (Luther) plays Stringer Bell. He's an awesome actor and Luther would almost convert me back to getting a TV.
