So they are fluent in english, and most even have western accents, which is not surprising as they were a british protectorate country.. but like capriccioso said, the older generation can converse in english, but they are not really fluent, like the current generation nor do they have western accen't like the current generation.

Well, with education you sortta have a point. But remember that Botswana was not "colonised" per say... We went to Britain and asked for protection from the South African Boers, and thats how Botswana(or rather Bechuanaland as we used to be called) became a British Protectorate. I think the British saw nothing in Botswana and didnt think it was worth colonising like that, i.e. the diamonds in Botswana were only discovered after independence. of it's own peple's hard work.
So most of what Botswana has is because of it's own peple's hard work. Free education, free medical facilities, and a lot of the current generation of Batswana are actually getting quite a good education. Now, if you say that perhaps they lack the confidence to use their education, and intelligence to its full potential to improve the country, then we might agree. But the same could be said about plenty other countries, and not only in Africa. The lazy comment just doesnt cut it.

LOL Ok, now we both know that that's not true, so whats the problem here?? What do you really have against Botswana? And FYI, caucasian people had very little to no hand in Botswana's development. Well, with education you sortta have a point. But remember that Botswana was not "colonised" per say... We went to Britain and asked for protection from the South African Boers, and thats how Botswana(or rather Bechuanaland as we used to be called) became a British Protectorate. I think the British saw nothing in Botswana and didnt think it was worth colonising like that, i.e. the diamonds in Botswana were only discovered after independence. of it's own peple's hard work.

So most of what Botswana has is because of it's own peple's hard work. Free education, free medical facilities, and a lot of the current generation of Batswana are actually getting quite a good education. Now, if you say that perhaps they lack the confidence to use their education, and intelligence to its full potential to improve the country, then we might agree. But the same could be said about plenty other countries, and not only in Africa. The lazy comment just doesnt cut it.

botswana is da richest country in africa.per capita income now at 13000.the education is still crap though i did ma schooling in zimbabwe.that's where most parents send their kidz.botswana realy developing fast lol.just like dubai.have u seen gabz lately?i actually live in bokaa near mochudi and i have a pictureof the place 5 years ago it's totally different now there is a paved road plus that A1 highway has 4 lanes now.

Lets say when i went to woolworths there were only few people and we are standing in the queue for a long time coz they are talking too much in the counter... and we complained and they just ignore... people here doesnt know what CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALL ABOUT!!!!

All i can tell you is,i found out that Botswana customer service is poor only after i have been to Australia & have had that sort of comparison.Though the problem is not everywhere,its 'generally safe' to say its poor!
