hi can ylou tell me about the deit thing and how it really works ,i have a autistic child who speaks very little ,hyperactive, and also doesnt respond much to us..
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is now available at a private clinic in Mississauga, Ontario which is a private clinic just west of Toronto at Under Pressure Inc. The Hyperbaric Healing Centre. They happily treat two autistic children at the same time so families can save on treatment costs. 905-274-2032
What a great recovery video, it gives parents like me hope that my son will recover, we're in the beginning of our biomedical journey and we hope that David has as good of an outcome as Ethan did. One question that I had was did Ethan always have speech or did that come later with the treatments? I'm asking because David has no speech and I'm waiting so desperately for him to say any word. Thanks for this video like I said it gives me a lot of hope!
Incredible! I don't really believe in 'recovering' from autism, but in learning to deal with it by changing your habits. But seems like you have done a wonderfull job at that! What a lovely child (with or without his autism-problems! I hope Ethan enjoys his 'new life' as much as his parents do!
Wow! I read Jenny McCarthy's book Mother Warriors and this is Stan the Man. Anyone with Autistic children should read that book he goes into more detail of his story. The struggles with his son Ethan and things you can to to heal your kids. Very touching book! Love this video it gives hope :0)
Well many autistics say their first words at around the same age as he said his. The
gluten-free diet that she prescribes works for those with wheat allergy or coeliac disease. Besides the best way to "recover" is simply social interaction and teaching your child what's right or wrong.
My son has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I designed Awareness Cards to hand out to others whether in public or to classmates. They have been invaluable!
Our son's Speech and Language Therapy is no longer covered under our Medical Insurance so the money that I make from my sales goes to paying for his Therapy.

Wow... I'm speachless. Congratulations! That's really rare to recover from disease like that but you truly did. I'm so happy for you! Greets to Ethan, he's really handsome and cute little boy.
Thanks for posting. You son's story gives me hope for my son Connor. He turns 4 this May and is low functioning, non-verbal ASD. Tried the GF/CF diet for 6 months w/o improvement. We're now on a waiting list to see a DAN doctor. Hope to share your success and joy.
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME...I love this story. I can't wait for hubby to get home so that I can show him. Our son has Asperger's Syndrome and is high functioning but often falls into his autistic symptoms and I as any other parent want to give him the best chance at recovery. God bless you and sweet Ethan.
YEA! This is awesome. Our PDD/ASD son is 14 days into just taking vitamins and supplements to help control yeast overgrowth and repair cell function once damaged by Amoxicillin/Augmentin (He had about 20 ear infections in one year). 2 weeks! and we are seeing huge improvements in speech and social skills, which everyone is noticing. Yes we can!
The miracles of this world are amazing. The fact that I've lived with an Autistic Sister for about 13 years shows me how many different cures for Autism are. Only God knows how to cure my sister's autism.
The relationship of increased Autism with increased vaccine requirements by the government cannot be denied. Mercury is just a piece of the Autism cause puzzle. The food pyramid that the government requires of the school system also needs to be questioned. Dairy and grains (gluten) are not good for people. This anti-viral therapy needs to be better promoted.
Be inspired and empowered, read "Mother Warriors", by Jenny McCarthy. I am in the process of recovering my unvaccinated five year old butterfly (joyful daughter) who was recently diagnosed with Autism. Although I was fairly fortunate to find a doctor who has handled cases of children with varying degrees of autism symptoms, DRUG FREE! But, I feel the same way in that I had to do much of the work to find out what more I can do to help heal her. I encourage you not to give up.
thank you so much for posting this inspiring video. my son was diagnosed with autism years ago, and i would love to hear more about how your wonderful ethan is doing these days. it is about a year and a half since the original post of this thread, and as we all know a great deal can change in that time. also, would you be able to tell a bit more about the 'healing reaction' that you mentioned? how you treated it, how severe it was, etc. thanks again!
I have two little cousins with autism and the boy has a more severe case than his sister but I really want to tell their mother about this study but I dont want to hurt her or make it seem as if I dont approve of her methods...I came across ur video b.c Im doing a project for my PSY class n the part when Ethan danced with u and gave u the cars made me cry. I wish I could see my little cousin interact in that way..I hope u dont mind if I show this video to my class.god bless u and ur little Ethan
I was absolutly floored when I saw your video everything that your ethan had my ethan currently is living with. I don't think I've cried tears of joy like This since I had ethan, I'm sooo very happy for you and to think that maybe someday my baby could be where your son is now gives me great hope
The idea that most autistic children are completely nonverbal is a bit of myth. In fact, MANY autistic children are verbal, but not conversational. The majority do speak, but they cannot communicate appropriately. They speak using echolalia, or phrases that don't make sense to people that don't interact with them on a regular basis. As the saying goes, "If you know one child with autism, you know ONE child with autism." I do agree about them trying to be heard, though.
There is also the opposite idea that people diagnosed with Asperger's have no difficulties with verbal speech. Which is a load of BS. I was officially diagnosed with Asperger's, but I have some difficulties with verbal speech. Most of the time my speech works fine, but sometimes it doesn't. Also, the ability to produce ineligible sentences does not mean you can effectively communicate what you want to communicate. It's called the autism spectrum for a reason. Things aren't black and white.
quack quack says the doctor. colloidal silver is the key along with other Monoatomic elements such as gold.disorder of the brains spectrum can be cured to a certian degree.there are buried studies that prove it.stay away from gamma blockers FLORIDE. also GMO's(food).autistic children are very smart all they are missing is that electromagnetic spark.the balance of the brains spectrum.there are no precious minerals in the soil anymore.ever hear of bleeding blue.well not anymore anyway try it.
If the vaccines didn't do this, then why can't they explain what did? Autism is curable, and preventable. What I see here is what we see all the time on our group of parents who are using interventions like this to heal their children.
Vaccines are full of poisons, just read the package insert from the company...they admit it, why is everyone else in denial.
I am so glad for you and congradulations,I am so happy for your son I hope that his progress continues. I wish there was a cure for me and this makes me so happy for you and your family.
wow! didn't even know that's posible. wow! i have an autist nephew and my sister-n-law is devastated; i am sure that your story will help her regain hope. THANK YOU and again WOW!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Nope, vaccines don't CAUSE autism. They just often TRIGGER it. Usually the cause is digestive problems and gut dysbiosis. Look up GAPS - Gut and Psychology Syndrome.
I agree. There is definately a link between the gut and the brain, and by injecting little ones with live viruses when their bodies are already fighting something in their bellies...that's asking for trouble.
I would say that people shouldn't be spreading this idea without strong scientific evidence behind them. even in youtube comments. It's dangerous to warn people off vaccination with the prospect of "inducing autism". If anything requires skepticism it is the complete disregard for the established role of genetics in autism and neurological disorders. I will be researching the content of my childs injections but I will certainly not cancel vaccinations blindly, this is no small decision.
I am not saying "Do not vaccinate"...I am saying be selective. Use a delayed vaccination schedule. Check to see what vaccines are used by your pediatrician and what components are involved. Be vigilant. Yes, in many cases of autism, there is probably a genetic link(especially with severe cases, and Rett's disorder), but with the rate of children on the spectrum increasing from 1 in 10,000 children in the 1960's to 1 in 150 children in 2007, there is something environmental going on.
If vaccines cause autism why does my twin son have it and his twin sister doesn't ..and what about those that have NOT had the vaccine but still have autism, i know 3 children ... Its Genes nothing more i know a lot of children have autism BUT wouldnt every child have it if it was down to this vaccine ?
There are several theories. One is that some children are predisposed to autism and that the toxins in vaccines trigger autism. The reason your son has it and his sister doesn't is that they are fraternal twins. If they were identical boys, they would both have it. Another theory is that some kids are born with infection in their gut. Their bodies are so busy fighting the infection in their bellies that they can't fight the things in the vaccine that they need to. There are a lot of theories.
Not the vaccine though .. i know children that have not had the vaccine but still have autism, all i was getting at really is the MMR vaccine should NOT be the blame of autism of course there are other causes its just no one knows what, i know identical twins one has aspergers the other doesn't
Here is the thing: The symptoms of mercury poisoning and the symptoms of autism are SO similar. There are certainly cases of autism out there that are not caused by thimerosal or heavy metals in vaccines. However, with autism rates being 1 in 150, SOMETHING is going on. When a child suddenly stops developing normally after their first MMR vaccine(like my daughter), one has to wonder. I, for one, am willing to give biomedical intervention a try. It can't hurt. If it helps, even better.
Canderson- I am with yuo 100% on this!! My daughter is 3yo- Autistic, we have been GF for 8 months. We just found a DAN! doctor in our area and meet her Friday. CAN'T WAIT! Please email me and maybe we can talk more.
What a wonderful video. I read about this video in Jenny McCarthy's newest book, and it fills me with so much hope. My daughter was diagnosed with autism 6 months ago at age 4. I refuse to believe that my beautiful little girl, who was developing normally her first year, will be locked inside herself for the rest of her life. Those of you that scream, "FALSE HOPE!!"...would you rather we parents had no hope at all? Should we hang our heads and mourn? What's wrong with hope? I for one, will hope.
How long did you keep up behavioral interventions and RDI? What was your timeline on educational therapies v. the medical therapy? How long did you implement each therapy before and after the medical therapy? More information would be helpful.
to recover from autism - first of all autism is not a disease - it´s a state of condition! To "recover" means possibly to be more open and to have the capability to communicate - and most of all to be understand. Autism will follow throughout the life. Nts. - read Temple Grandin´s story
bless you for trying treatments... so many people just think that's how they will always be... my 4yr old daughter has autism... we are still getting second opinions, third opinions, fourth opinions... we refuse to give up... even though she has never said her own name, the other day she said, "open mom". It's a start, a very beautiful start and I'm so full of hope!
I would like any information on how to start the detox process for my son. Please post more info about the diet and treatment that helped your son. Combination antiviral antifungal therapy???
you should check out dietary books for children with autism, i'm the sister of an autistic child, so i don't know any names of the books my parents have but there should be a lot out there. also what we're doing is giving my brother vitamins to help with the stemming, we're giving him things like fish oil, DMG, folic acid, and zinc
THANKS for putting this on here, unbeleivable how people are so critical of someone who just wants to possibley help someone else.
Can you please tell me what diet and anitfungalviral meds you had your son on, my son is alot like yours floppy and all. cant wait to here from you how is your son now?
Hi, we have a 3 years old boy with autism, I would like to know how can we get a Dr. able to help us with these treatments you're giving to Ethan. I love this video and I'm so happy for his improvements !!!
what changes exactly did you introduce to ethan's diet?
I don't think you found the cure to all forms of autism, but hey! it's obviously worth it trying this. You really show how a diet cures something that looks like autism
I think this does a disservice to the autism community as this child is clearly not autistic but rather suffered from an infection that created autism-like symptoms. This gives false hope to those of us who have truly autistic children.
i'm sure he wasn't just suffering from "autism-like symptoms" there are different degrees to autism, and this child is older than a lot of children who are diagnosed at an earlier age, because they were showing symptoms at an earlier age. in many cases children start out "normal" then soon start showing symptoms. and when he listed all the symptoms, i recongnized 98% of them from what my brother has
I have Asperger's, my oldest son does as well, and my youngest son is very classically austistic. If you do a little reading, you will find that children don't develop autism, they are born with it. There are other disorders that are similar and which are often confused with autsim - and what you are describing is called childhood disintegrative disorder. Read the DSM-IV diagnostic criteria for autism - it's pretty specific that symptoms must be apparent before the age of 3.
my brother was diagnosed before his second birthday, he goes to a special school, he has therapists...i have read a lot about it, my parents have, although he can't specifically be diagnosed with a a degree or type of autism because he's too young, doctors have diagnosed him. he got checked out a few months ago again for a certain diagnosis for something having to do with his autism, and the doctor right away said that he was autistic
oh and i realize that children don't just develop it, something has to trigger it...that's interesting about similar disorders similar to autism though, except my brother unfortunately has it, 100%. he's almost three years old now and still has no language
There is no type, just a curve - that's why it's called a 'spectrum' disorder. A diagnosis of autism is one that is reached by ruling out all other possible causes - not something that can be diagnosed 'right away' as you said the doc did. It's also not 'triggered' - it's a genetic disorder, you are born with it. Period. Not going to argue with you anymore. Just stop spreading falsehoods - you and everyone else. It does nothing to further the fight against it, only does harm.
sorry you keep shutting me down because i don't explain EVERYTHING my brother has been doing for the past 2.5 years of his life. i don't care what you say, he is autistic and it is possible for a child to come out of an autistic state. i'm sorry you're still dealing with your problems but you should stop being so negative about all this when i'm trying to have hope for my brother
Lack of language is not in itself enough to reach a diagnosis of autism. It is more complex than that and there are many reasons why children have issues with both receptive and expressive language. Doctors are human and limited by their individual knowledge, they make mistakes all the time.
the doctor i was talking about was one of the last ones we went to for him, to get help for some type of therapy-speech, motor skills, or something else...not sure. but i do realize that it's genetic, but i meant that some don't start out showing symptoms, but then something along the line triggers it.
It is currently not possible to be cured from autism. If one 'comes out of an autistic state' then it wasn't autism to begin with, it was a misdiagnosis that spread false hope to others who really do deal with it on a daily basis. Bah - fools. Having hope is one thing, spreading half-truths due to ignorance is something else.
i'm glad you're telling this to a sixteen year old... it's really cool to insult someone who wants the best for a child in a bad situation(but i didn't mean that you can be totally cured, i agree with you on that, but you can stop or prevent the behavior)
Your profile says 22...if you truly are 16, maybe you should stay out of grown-up arguments.
Diagnostic Criteria for 299.00 Autistic Disorder
(I) A total of six (or more) items from (A), (B), and (C), with at least two from (A), and one each from (B) and (C) (A) qualitative impairment in social interaction, as manifested by at least two of the following: 1. marked impairments in the use of multiple nonverbal behaviors such as eye-to-eye gaze, facial expression, body posture,
2. failure to develop peer relationships appropriate to developmental level
3. a lack of spontaneous seeking to share enjoyment, interests, or achievements with other people, (e.g., by a lack of showing, bringing, or pointing out objects of interest to other people) 4. lack of social or emotional reciprocity ( note: in the description, it gives the following as examples: not actively participating in simple social play or games, preferring solitary
activities, or involving others in activities only as tools or "mechanical" aids )
(B) qualitative impairments in communication as manifested by at least one of the following: 1. delay in, or total lack of, the development of spoken language (not accompanied by an attempt to compensate through alternative modes of communication such as gesture or mime) 2. in individuals with adequate speech, marked impairment in the ability to initiate or sustain a conversation with others

(C) restricted repetitive and stereotyped patterns of behavior, interests and activities, as manifested by at least two of the following: 1. encompassing preoccupation with one or more stereotyped and restricted patterns of interest that is abnormal either in intensity or focus
well aren't we savy. what are you trying to prove? that my little brother who is suffering from autism isn't autistic? i'm glad to see you can use goodgle.
It's not about your brother, it's about the kid in the video who is not autistic. His issues were caused by infection, not autism. That was my point. Read through all the comments, I'm not the only one who is annoyed by the claim that this child 'recovered' from autism.
Hi, we have a 3 years old boy with autism, I would like to know how can we get a Dr. able to help us with these treatments you're giving to Ethan. I love this video and I'm so happy for his improvements !!!
Oh, I don't know what to say. How wonderful is this video. This is what it's all about, parents standing with their children NO MATTER WHAT! Ethan and his dad is my motivation for the next year. I feel so emosional - happy emosional. All the best for this wonderful family.
You are an inspiration to many children and parents. It was GREAT meeting you last month. It's amazing to watch this video and see how far you have come.
wow! Thank you for making such a great video and sharing it with us all. I just learned that my 2 yr old son has autism. Watching the improvments your son has made inspires me to no end.
For5 those of you who would like info, email me on here and I will send you whatever info I have (my daughter is Autistic and we are Gluten (wheat) free. Has helped IMMENSELY. We are looking into anti-fungal treatment.
You can try gluten free diets, casein (dairy) free. From what I gathered of what this family did, anti-viral is Valtrex and anti-fungal could be yeast medication, such a Diflucan. Also, probiotics help.
FABULOUS!!!!!! I am a psychologist who has worked with countless kids with autism. I am SO glad to see this. I will share it with my Child Psychopathology class tonight. The only word I can think of his HOPE! Thank you for giving it to the world.
My son was diagnosed with autiam he just turned two..I want to help him however I can, I tried the DAN diet and spent so much money and all it did was make him really hyper..How did you go about getting this treatment?
Oh and rasanchezd, I'm really happy for your family and your son that you were able to improve his condition. I noticed how much more you were able to hold him and treat him like a "normal" child. And how he could show u different emotions when you asked. That was great =)
...oh, and thank you, rasanchezd, for this amazing post. You reminded me of so many things that we've taken for granted are no longer a problem. So encouraging.
I see the posts about how this is a "sick joke" and how Ethan "never had autism". Well, that's what specialists and diagnosticians are calling the condition. They say they're casting a larger net to diagnose. Nevertheless, these are autistic characteristics. Whatever may be said, 1 in 150 kids diagnosed means this condition--classified as a form of autism is common and needs this level of attention. My own autism-diagnosed son (also named Ethan) was very much like this. And now, also, is not.
My daughter is getting ready to start DAN treatments. She is five years old and not potty-trained and completely nonverbal. I am praying for the same type of result for her. She also is hypotonic and had a lot of thrush in her mouth when she was an infant. She was diagnosed with autism at 2 1/2 years of age.
This guy is playing an incredibly sick joke on a lot of desperate parents of children who really do have autism. That's all I'm going to say about this. Anybody who believes this guy deserves what they get. Autism is well defined in the DSM-IV diagnostic manual. There is NO form of autism that has any kind of seizures. That kid was never autistic.
There a quite a few therapies and treatments that can have great results on some autistic children if they are started at a young age. I wrote about them for a project in school last year. A lot of it is adjusting chemical imbalances which prevent the protein metallothionein from being made which is used to make a whole load of other stuff which causes the symptoms of Autism.
My younger brother has rolandic seizures that are linked to his Autism.
You have a truly beautiful and wonderful son. You are obviously fantastic parents, and I am glad he is recovering so well. I wish you all the happiness that life can bring for the future.
That kid did not have autism - period. He never had it. Autism is not an infection. It does not cause seizures or hypotonia. Please get your facts straight before passing false information on the Internet that can only lead other parents to false hope. I'm glad you found a cure for your kid, but he didn't have autism.
I am sure he had a diagnosis and they did not just "think" he has autism. He had lots of signs of autism, when he was not responding to his name, his tantrums, the most obvious was what he did with his hands in the sandbox. Lots of autistic people has "petit mals" and also unusual walking.
MANY children who are being diagnosed with "autism" have gut issues like yeast overgrowth and food intolerances and 1/3 of all autistic children have seizures. My daughter doesn't have seizures, but she always had issues with yeast and thrush as a baby. I agree that these things are not true "autism" but they get called that by mainstream doctors who do not believe in the brain-gut connection and tell you there is nothing you can do.
We were so moved by your story and would be so greatfull if you can share the information on the product you used for detox. Our Son is six years old and we are trying every possible option and hope this may help him.
think recovery is not possible. It is! Sadly many have chose to live with Autism instead. Why? The same reason people choose to be poor. As for PROGRESS, your son can once again enjoy the field of infinate possiblity we call life. Because you decided that he would have nothing less. I will join you one day with a recovery story of my own!
It is amazing that parents like you did not ignore what was happening by seeing the signs of things that were not normal in your child and put him on an anti-viral. Can you please tell me the name of that anti-viral, fungus? I am so glad that your son is progressing. Good life to your family and especially Ethan.
I am a mother and nurse of an almost 9 year old Autistic son, I have seen changes in behavior with age. They are ALL different. ANYONE who changes their diet to a healthier one, as chealation therapy, will be able to process better & pay attention longer. Autistic children do not "recover",but "function better", is a better way to explain it, but the word RECOVER or HEAL, means its gone.Autism is not cureable, false hope to parents hurts,& saddens me.Great video,he is beautiful.God Bless You.
I think this is an amazing story and provides alot of help and hope for families. Autism is a devastating diagnosis--but with early intervention and parents such as Ethan's, children can improve. Ethan's dad is amazing--he knows how to play and connect with his son. I am a speech pathologist and I work with autistic children. Parents of autistic children: Keep working toward a cure for your children!! It is NOT a fairy tale to expect a cure.
I agree with you, the word "recover" or "heal" bothers me, PROGRESS is a much better word, these children will forever have Autistic behaviors, until a true "CURE" is found if possible, but brain damage is usually not curable, I accept my child the way he is, & will help him any way I can, but will not be one to say he is recovering or healed...false words hurt parents, because all these children have different degrees on the spectrum and not all will respond the same..& none of them are "CURED"
The brain damage is reversable by training. Just as stroke patientients relearn to speak , walk using other parts of brains, the same for autistic kids. We just need to keep working with our kids and never give up.That is the best cure.
It is not possible to cure a genetic disorder. It may be possible to improve unrelated health problems with remedies, or even to train many of the symptoms away, a la pet obedience school, but there is no complete escape from this condition. Fairy tales are for children. Living with the disorder is a whole other story. Forgive me my irritated tone, but I grow increasingly irritated with people who claim miracle cures for a condition I know better than any of them; I have it. Please get real.
What study do you refer to when you say that autism is a genetic disorder?
There must be lab proof to make that claim... to my knowledge that set of results does not exist.
Truth: The scientific community does not collectively agree on what causes autism.
Progress such as this cannot be discarded.
Refering to yourself in terms of less than human, ie. "pet obedience school" is not conducive to you. You are not an animal... you are a human. And you can improve... blessings to you.
Good for you, PROGRESS is a better word, and the response below was harsh..you are doing the best you can, be proud of who you are...everyone is different, and Autism is not curable..and may never be, anyone who changes their diet feels and processes information and responds better..everyone knows that, but not all these children will eat like that either..and not everyone has the funds to pay for therapy and special diets. Words "Spectrum disorder" should tell everyone that.
Sick autistic kids, like sick non-autistics, don't function as well as when they're feeling better. Autistics are often being asked to do things which are more difficult for them and therefore more affected by stress or illness. He still looks autistic, just higher functioning because he's healthier.
Be careful of false hope, and the words RECOVERED,RECOVERY,CURED,HEALED ect..only PROGRESS is appropriate words to use when that is what is seen here, they do not all respond the same, I coach Challenger Baseball, they are NOT all the same...do the best you can, and love your son and be involved...
My GOD! Put red hair on your son, and he could be my 3 1/2 year old. Exact same behaviors.. ataxia, unresponsive... We just started anti-fungals for yeast 4 days ago and are seeing a DAN doc. I hope my son recovers too. :) Your son is lovely. i would love to talk to you guys about the treatments you did. Please email me if you don't mind..thank you!!
Ethan is Stan's son not mine. But it is wonderful isn't?
My son's name is Diego. I have a few videos of him in here. Check out his birthday video and some others on our rare central texas mini-micro snowfall.
I would like any info on how to start the detox process for my son, he was diagnosed last year and I compleatly believe he can be healed and recover all he's lost. Please post more info about the diet and treatment that helped your son. was he vaccinated? any birth trama? have you ever tried cranial sacral treatments?-this is something that has come highly recommended that i'm looking into along with detox and diet. my son go's to special education and it's helping, but i know i can do more....
What diet did you implement? Who Was your Doctor? Amazing. Praise God for you and your wife pursing treatment beyond "normal medical establishment." You give me hope for my son who is now 4 1/2 yr old and non verbal.
this it´s the most great autism video that i´ve ever see, thnaks so much for this i learned a lot, i´m starting to work with autistic kids and this is so helpfull!!!!!!!! take care lovely ethan (sorry if i didn´t writ the name correctly, my english it´s not very good).

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME...I love this story. I can't wait for hubby to get home so that I can show him.

JetMcCloud 3 years ago

Although most autistic children can not speak, they are so desperately trying to be heard...
watch?v=aJZ4ZWSpOqY
patzsister 3 years ago
The idea that most autistic children are completely nonverbal is a bit of myth. In fact, MANY autistic children are verbal, but not conversational. The majority do speak, but they cannot communicate appropriately. They speak using echolalia, or phrases that don't make sense to people that don't interact with them on a regular basis. As the saying goes, "If you know one child with autism, you know ONE child with autism." I do agree about them trying to be heard, though.
CAnderson66053 3 years ago
There is also the opposite idea that people diagnosed with Asperger's have no difficulties with verbal speech. Which is a load of BS. I was officially diagnosed with Asperger's, but I have some difficulties with verbal speech. Most of the time my speech works fine, but sometimes it doesn't. Also, the ability to produce ineligible sentences does not mean you can effectively communicate what you want to communicate. It's called the autism spectrum for a reason. Things aren't black and white.

WAKE UP PEOPLE! It's the VACCINATIONS! Stop taking the shots! Google it! Vaccinations cause autism.
I prey for a cure, but please in god's name stop being ignorant, the shots give kids autism!
Google it! It's a well known fact!
instantleads 3 years ago 2
Nope, vaccines don't CAUSE autism. They just often TRIGGER it. Usually the cause is digestive problems and gut dysbiosis. Look up GAPS - Gut and Psychology Syndrome.
ginavoce25 3 years ago
I agree. There is definately a link between the gut and the brain, and by injecting little ones with live viruses when their bodies are already fighting something in their bellies...that's asking for trouble.
CAnderson66053 3 years ago
I would say that people shouldn't be spreading this idea without strong scientific evidence behind them. even in youtube comments. It's dangerous to warn people off vaccination with the prospect of "inducing autism". If anything requires skepticism it is the complete disregard for the established role of genetics in autism and neurological disorders. I will be researching the content of my childs injections but I will certainly not cancel vaccinations blindly, this is no small decision.
frederickfarrell 3 years ago
I am not saying "Do not vaccinate"...I am saying be selective. Use a delayed vaccination schedule. Check to see what vaccines are used by your pediatrician and what components are involved. Be vigilant. Yes, in many cases of autism, there is probably a genetic link(especially with severe cases, and Rett's disorder), but with the rate of children on the spectrum increasing from 1 in 10,000 children in the 1960's to 1 in 150 children in 2007, there is something environmental going on.
CAnderson66053 3 years ago
If vaccines cause autism why does my twin son have it and his twin sister doesn't ..and what about those that have NOT had the vaccine but still have autism, i know 3 children ... Its Genes nothing more i know a lot of children have autism BUT wouldnt every child have it if it was down to this vaccine ?
missangie29 3 years ago
There are several theories. One is that some children are predisposed to autism and that the toxins in vaccines trigger autism. The reason your son has it and his sister doesn't is that they are fraternal twins. If they were identical boys, they would both have it. Another theory is that some kids are born with infection in their gut. Their bodies are so busy fighting the infection in their bellies that they can't fight the things in the vaccine that they need to. There are a lot of theories.
CAnderson66053 3 years ago
Not the vaccine though .. i know children that have not had the vaccine but still have autism, all i was getting at really is the MMR vaccine should NOT be the blame of autism of course there are other causes its just no one knows what, i know identical twins one has aspergers the other doesn't
missangie29 3 years ago
Here is the thing: The symptoms of mercury poisoning and the symptoms of autism are SO similar. There are certainly cases of autism out there that are not caused by thimerosal or heavy metals in vaccines. However, with autism rates being 1 in 150, SOMETHING is going on. When a child suddenly stops developing normally after their first MMR vaccine(like my daughter), one has to wonder. I, for one, am willing to give biomedical intervention a try. It can't hurt. If it helps, even better.

I for one, will hope.

to recover from autism - first of all autism is not a disease - it´s a state of condition! To "recover" means possibly to be more open and to have the capability to communicate - and most of all to be understand. Autism will follow throughout the life. Nts. - read Temple Grandin´s story

what changes exactly did you introduce to ethan's diet?
I don't think you found the cure to all forms of autism, but hey! it's obviously worth it trying this. You really show how a diet cures something that looks like autism
amrantabuendia 3 years ago
I think this does a disservice to the autism community as this child is clearly not autistic but rather suffered from an infection that created autism-like symptoms. This gives false hope to those of us who have truly autistic children.
rjego 3 years ago
i'm sure he wasn't just suffering from "autism-like symptoms" there are different degrees to autism, and this child is older than a lot of children who are diagnosed at an earlier age, because they were showing symptoms at an earlier age. in many cases children start out "normal" then soon start showing symptoms. and when he listed all the symptoms, i recongnized 98% of them from what my brother has
heytracey 3 years ago
I have Asperger's, my oldest son does as well, and my youngest son is very classically austistic. If you do a little reading, you will find that children don't develop autism, they are born with it. There are other disorders that are similar and which are often confused with autsim - and what you are describing is called childhood disintegrative disorder. Read the DSM-IV diagnostic criteria for autism - it's pretty specific that symptoms must be apparent before the age of 3.
rjego 3 years ago
my brother was diagnosed before his second birthday, he goes to a special school, he has therapists...i have read a lot about it, my parents have, although he can't specifically be diagnosed with a a degree or type of autism because he's too young, doctors have diagnosed him. he got checked out a few months ago again for a certain diagnosis for something having to do with his autism, and the doctor right away said that he was autistic
heytracey 3 years ago
oh and i realize that children don't just develop it, something has to trigger it...that's interesting about similar disorders similar to autism though, except my brother unfortunately has it, 100%. he's almost three years old now and still has no language
heytracey 3 years ago
There is no type, just a curve - that's why it's called a 'spectrum' disorder. A diagnosis of autism is one that is reached by ruling out all other possible causes - not something that can be diagnosed 'right away' as you said the doc did. It's also not 'triggered' - it's a genetic disorder, you are born with it. Period. Not going to argue with you anymore. Just stop spreading falsehoods - you and everyone else. It does nothing to further the fight against it, only does harm.
rjego 3 years ago
sorry you keep shutting me down because i don't explain EVERYTHING my brother has been doing for the past 2.5 years of his life. i don't care what you say, he is autistic and it is possible for a child to come out of an autistic state. i'm sorry you're still dealing with your problems but you should stop being so negative about all this when i'm trying to have hope for my brother
heytracey 3 years ago
Lack of language is not in itself enough to reach a diagnosis of autism. It is more complex than that and there are many reasons why children have issues with both receptive and expressive language. Doctors are human and limited by their individual knowledge, they make mistakes all the time.
rjego 3 years ago
the doctor i was talking about was one of the last ones we went to for him, to get help for some type of therapy-speech, motor skills, or something else...not sure. but i do realize that it's genetic, but i meant that some don't start out showing symptoms, but then something along the line triggers it.
heytracey 3 years ago
It is currently not possible to be cured from autism. If one 'comes out of an autistic state' then it wasn't autism to begin with, it was a misdiagnosis that spread false hope to others who really do deal with it on a daily basis. Bah - fools. Having hope is one thing, spreading half-truths due to ignorance is something else.
rjego 3 years ago
i'm glad you're telling this to a sixteen year old... it's really cool to insult someone who wants the best for a child in a bad situation(but i didn't mean that you can be totally cured, i agree with you on that, but you can stop or prevent the behavior)
heytracey 3 years ago

StarbucksCoffeeFreak 3 years ago
This guy is playing an incredibly sick joke on a lot of desperate parents of children who really do have autism. That's all I'm going to say about this. Anybody who believes this guy deserves what they get. Autism is well defined in the DSM-IV diagnostic manual. There is NO form of autism that has any kind of seizures. That kid was never autistic.
n4mwd 3 years ago
There a quite a few therapies and treatments that can have great results on some autistic children if they are started at a young age. I wrote about them for a project in school last year. A lot of it is adjusting chemical imbalances which prevent the protein metallothionein from being made which is used to make a whole load of other stuff which causes the symptoms of Autism.
My younger brother has rolandic seizures that are linked to his Autism.
Don't bullshit what you don't understand.

That kid did not have autism - period. He never had it. Autism is not an infection. It does not cause seizures or hypotonia. Please get your facts straight before passing false information on the Internet that can only lead other parents to false hope. I'm glad you found a cure for your kid, but he didn't have autism.
n4mwd 3 years ago
I am sure he had a diagnosis and they did not just "think" he has autism. He had lots of signs of autism, when he was not responding to his name, his tantrums, the most obvious was what he did with his hands in the sandbox. Lots of autistic people has "petit mals" and also unusual walking.
mandroka68 3 years ago
MANY children who are being diagnosed with "autism" have gut issues like yeast overgrowth and food intolerances and 1/3 of all autistic children have seizures. My daughter doesn't have seizures, but she always had issues with yeast and thrush as a baby. I agree that these things are not true "autism" but they get called that by mainstream doctors who do not believe in the brain-gut connection and tell you there is nothing you can do.

It is NOT a fairy tale to expect a cure.
speech529 3 years ago
You're close. It is not a fairy tale to expect PROGRESS from Autistic kids. Check out some autistic adults.
wiscsuzski 3 years ago
I agree with you, the word "recover" or "heal" bothers me, PROGRESS is a much better word, these children will forever have Autistic behaviors, until a true "CURE" is found if possible, but brain damage is usually not curable, I accept my child the way he is, & will help him any way I can, but will not be one to say he is recovering or healed...false words hurt parents, because all these children have different degrees on the spectrum and not all will respond the same..& none of them are "CURED"
autismom6 3 years ago

OutcastLover 3 years ago 2

Hi,
Ethan is Stan's son not mine. But it is wonderful isn't?
My son's name is Diego. I have a few videos of him in here. Check out his birthday video and some others on our rare central texas mini-micro snowfall.
Good luck :)
