  • for those that were wondering what the whining noise is... its straight cut gears... dunno why they sound like that but hey! any ideas?

  • at 1:40 if you turn right its a mountain bike track it leads you to margam park ahaa

  • Rally Drivers, Real SKILL!!!

  • this thing electric it sounds it ?

  • LOL no it's not. You're probably hearing the turbo whine.

  • Or the gears...........

  • Yeah I think you're right. I first watched and commented on the video while in school, so I couldn't actually turn the volume on, and I was just guessing. But the gears are quite a bit more prevalent in this video than the turbo so I think that's probably what it is. Nice catch.

  • this was the Stage Tommi mäkkinen has a broken wishbone on the Lancer Evo 7 i think

    at 0:25sec

  • all the comments are roughly saying the same thing! give the guy a chance though, his commitment is alot more than say mathew wilson who just shud not been given the drives that his lack of driving skills have achieved him. his loss of time is clearly evident but easily rectifiable, other drivers just dont have the commitment!

  • i love the on-board camera, wish u guys can do a split screen when the driver is doing twisty bits of the special stage... Wish I could see that, and that would be even more impressive.

    Viva WRC MEXICO!!!

  • he's just cruising through the whole thing, he'll never learn this way

  • they do get the same notes but they get to do some stages before hand an the co driver can make changes to those notes to suit the driver

  • As I am a new fan of the WRC and don't live in europe i was wanderin' could anybody tell me... do all teams get the same set of directions or do they hav to write their own

  • All teams get the same Rally Notes. Co-Driver's are limited on what they can write in those notes.

  • All drivers are given the same notes prior to the event,,

about a week prior to the event the teams have an option to do a recce,(drive through of the stages) (not in the rally car) where the navigator can make his/her own notes, they can do 2 of these.

  • they make the recce two or three days before the race. it consists in passing two times each stage, not in the rally car, and if i'm not wrong they have a speed limit to do it (dont remember if 60 or 80 kph)

they make theyre own corrections: remember poland 09 when Loeb hit that thing, Mikko had it ritten in his notes...

  • Wow, that action looks intense. Much respect to the driver and others who do this sport.

  • he maybe is not fast as the top drivers but he is is not a bad driver, he likes it and he does it... simply like that....

if i have his money i do the same... thats for shure...

i would like to know, if anybody knows, if he is champion of any championship in his country or something...

  • He won the middle East rally championship on 2002 and 2004!

  • Well, judging by the time-sheet this definitely wasn't a winning driving. It is also that one can see fairly well some of the places where the time was given away. But I'm really surprised and I take it with some pleasure that Al doesn't lack much in commitment over the fast stuff and that his handling of grade 4-max corners appears to be really good. He gets a bit lost where the road becomes narrow and corners get long. IMO, what leaves a lot to be desired is Al's management of hairpins.

  • Overall, Khalid made a very, very positive impression on me! He may not be so competitive as far as the rivalry between the world's top drivers go, but it's not like he is _slow_, or incompetent, and even less just a tourist paying big money into the M-Port budget (although it can't be denied that he had probably not gone into the team on the merit of his skills alone :)).

  • I think he really stands a chance to improve, because his not a timid one and he definitely can do quite a bit better given more experience and a bit more confidence (this onboard makes it very apparent that a WRC car really wants a confident, firm hand--and, paradoxically, not so much on fast corners, but even more so on the twisty bits).

To me, this onboard is precious, because it helps one realize how subtle a difference in driving prowess makes those huge differences on time-sheets!.

  • the navi had the time to repeat the note at many points!!!!.

  • OK he is not Seb Loeb but there is good action inside the rally car

  • he is the best injecting money into M sport ;) got give him credit for that

  • If you look closely you can see him going about 140-160 km/h

  • nice ive been waiting for some al-quassimi footage just because i havent seen much of him

  • this is awesome!!! they have golden helmets! haha cool!

  • maximum speeeeeeeed!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOL no he is'nt but i get that u are a fan, please take no offence by this statement
