A full grown asiatic black bear weigh around 250 with deadly claws. spotted hyena weigh around 170 without claws. Both species have powerful jaws.
A spotted hyena would put up a better fight... If it were to land one bite to that bear, the bear would quickly reconsider messing with it... Hyenas pack a very powerful jaw muscle that can crush....

There's always a chance that these two met in the natural course if events and that the scene was edited in, but the chances are very much against it. The hyena shares a range with the Asiatic black bear in only about 5% of their respective ranges. They would only normally see each other in a small part of southeast Iran, some of Afghanistan, and some of Pakistan. If this is staged then it's a big sin.
Humans will simply never learn... maybe there arent any staged scenes like this,, but in this time people still are doing bad things to animals and will keep doing it. : (

@Velasca They pitted large male african lions against grizzly bears for some 120 years ago. Bears killed the lions so easy they would not let people bet on the outcome. For those who are interested, I have links to internet books that describes the "fights". So even large male african lions are no match to an adult grizzly.

But Tigers never challenge grown Brown Bears. Only cubs and small yougsters in hibernation. The largest documented Brown Bear killed by a Tiger was only 170 kg. Killed during winter in hybernation.

On occations Tigers do kill Bears, its either cubs, small youngsters or old/sick Bears. No way will they try to kill an adult Brown Bear of normal size. Thats suicide.

Fake sound, the stripped Hyena doesnt sound like this at all... Spotted Hyenas sound like this and if this was a spotted Hyena it would have been much larger, MUCH stronger and way more agressive and would probably own that bear.

Even the largest pack of lions wont confront an adult; Bush elephant, white/black horned rhino or a hippo, not because they cant kill it but because its very unlikely they can kill it YET very likely some lions will get hurt/killed.
Grizzleys are imo the most dangerous 1v1 hunting animals, yet their not 'kings'. They dont confront adult bison, which is N/S Americas largest animal YET not very big by African standards.

Experts say tigers would win, in roman times it showed tigers won, animals in captivity that fought showed tigers winning & seriously it ends up with tigers winning dude. Statistics show that tigers win about 80% of their fights with lions due to their better fighting tactics. It sorta depends on the paticular animal but tigers win.

@Velasca They pitted large male african lions against grizzly bears for some 120 years ago. Bears killed the lions so easy they would not let people bet on the outcome. For those who are interested, I have links to internet books that describes the "fights". So even large male african lions are no match to an adult grizzly.

But Tigers never challenge grown Brown Bears. Only cubs and small yougsters in hibernation. The largest documented Brown Bear killed by a Tiger was only 170 kg. Killed during winter in hybernation.

@EBAIGTS The fact is that in spring, male Brown Bears seek out Tigers, follow them until they make a kill, and goes in and take their food away. Tigers cant do anything about it as Bears dominates such disputes. Most Tigers killed by Bears are large males, because only large males might try to defend their food. On occations Tigers do kill Bears, its either cubs, small youngsters or old/sick Bears. No way will they try to kill an adult Brown Bear of normal size. Thats suicide.

It is possible, that smaller bears move a lot quicker,and are actually better fighters, Notice large bear fights, I haven't noticed any bear fights that intense with Kodiak Brown Bears, the largest recorded Brown Bear is suppose to be 14ft tall,and 2500lbs, that is a pretty big Bear, but size doesn't always matter, if it fought like that bear, it would appear fierce, size doesn't matter.
