Again, Carolyn, thank you. I come originally from Scotland but have long made my home in Ireland. This song catches at my heart. My Grannie used to sing it, for her two sons, my father and uncle, who were among the Flowers of Scotland who were a' we'ed away in World War 2.

Not the traditional lyrics, which are much more meaningful. I suppose this is the more modern version. Too bad someone felt the need to change it.
