sorry but,Godby Marching Cougar Band "Pride of the Capital City" owns every Leon County High School Band includin rick and leon being our most competition......Leon is weak and Rickards is fake....i.e. that superior that you all didnt deserve because you couldnt show the judges your actual halftime show.....i was almost a marching raider though.......GHS Cush!

But it's true what I said about a lot of people not really having the heart in it anymore. I talk to a lot of people and once they get out of high school their quitting band for good and a lot of people are already quitting now.
I'm sorry if I was being rude. Leon is a VERY good band (i dated a guy in band and i have a lot of friends in the band) sometimes I just like to poke fun because I'm in the Chiles band. XD I love Leon band, I was just saying that some of the music they play is mainstream and they doesnt usually sound good with wind instruments, it loses all of the "coolness" and it just sounds weird. And yes I have heard several of their band concerts and they were very very good.
Have either of you been to a Leon band concert over Mr. Bula's tenure as director? Perhaps you shouldn't be so quick to assess the band based on fifty seconds of grainy video from a football game.
Try not to be so judgmental and stupid next time, if you can help it.

I'm a LB Alumn myself 00-04, and to refer to us as "disgusting", and "jive turkeys" shows lack of respect to a program...who under Mr. Bula's direction has still maintained Superior Ratings at ALL FESTIVALS ENTERED. I don't know if you both have realized, but the 80's are long gone, perhaps both of you should join us in 2008.
I wasn't referring to the band as "disgusting" I was referring to the stands music itself. i have attended Leon Band concerts and I love their performances.
Personally, I prefer Leon as a concert band rather than a marching band, musically.
This video honestly doesnt show the how good Leon band is but I've always felt that at marching games the music they have to play is basically arrangements of pop music. To me, I consider those types of "stands music" to be insulting to instruments.
I was in the tubas in 1983-1987 and Bula should be ashamed of himself for allowing the "Marching Redcoats" to degenerate into what appears to be a bunch of Britney Spears on drugs!! I can't believe and was humiliated to find that the redcoats have deteriorated into a bunch of 'jive turkeys'. We worked impeccably hard to maintain the standards and traditions of the program, never DANCING while performing and always sitting with dignity and pride while not playing.
