From what I heard, the Marshal deputies got caught (by the dog) doing surveillance on the house, and the dog started chasing the deputy down the hill. The deputy stops at a place where he can't go any further and shoots the dog in the back as it's charging at him (most likely trying to bite him). The kid starts shooting the deputy in anger, and the deputy returns fire and almost kills the kid. Am I right?

Now I might get bashed for this but I'm still trying to understand the story. From what I heard, the Marshal deputies got caught (by the dog) doing surveillance on the house, and the dog started chasing the deputy down the hill. The deputy stops at a place where he can't go any further and shoots the dog in the back as it's charging at him (most likely trying to bite him). The kid starts shooting the deputy in anger, and the deputy returns fire and almost kills the kid. Am I right?
