Holy smokes! I'm pushing 50 & I was watching Rex when I was 5 years old. Is he our last WW I vet? LOL! Glad to see he's still kicking. -New Hampshire, and glad to be well away from it.

Is Gold Rush still around too? Where's Cactus Pete? Who was the Mexican guy that Pete replaced?

The parade horse that Rex is currently riding is Goldrush #4. He is identical to #s 1,2, and 3. Cactus Pete is still around and has occasionally appeared with Rex at some "Boomtown" reunions. Rex's original sidekick that Cactus Pete replaced was named Pablo. Sgt Billy later replaced Cactus Pete. Check out Rex's website listed below for a great DVD called "Boomtown Gold" all about the 20 years of the show.

Thanks for the info. That's right.... PABLO! Good to know Goldrush is at least being replaced with exact replacements. The one I saw live was a wonderful "showman's" horse.

Besides being on Boomtown in the late 60's with my Cub Scout troop, I also saw Rex in a tire store in Framingham in the 80's.
