One of the earlier posts had it pegged right....probably the best time of the Knots Landing series was when she joined and they mixed her singing in with the storyline...for all those who debate, the fact is that Hartman sang all those songs herself...I have several of her tapes and albums and this is indeed her voice, you can tell by listening to her inflections and comparing it to her speaking lines in the show...Lisa Hartman has been, is, and will always be a class act--a tremdendous lady.

I also agree with you that this was a golden period for Knot's landing and I loved, loved, loved Lisa Hartman. She is so beautiful and talented. My only complaint is that I wish she would have had more stories after her Joshua storyline. After that storyline she had that brief little thing with Ben and then she was gone.

Benatar wouldn't sing this poorly on her worst day. Hartman, on the other hand, released several albums featuring her awful voice. How could you confuse the two? Knot's Landing went a long way in re-inforcing the motif of popular songs blending with story lines. Before its time, or really, a pioneer of music video mixed with prime time television. Should be available on DVD.....
i've always liked hartman but her hairdo here is awful, very, very dated. moreover, her voice is not nearly as strong as pat benatar's, this was a bad song choice for hartman.

UGLIEST HAIRSTYLE EVER CREATED, but funny we thought it looked good at the time. Aqua Net WAS depleting the ozone due to these hairdoos....She does sound a lot like Pat Benetar here.

I never missed an episode of Knots Landing.
When Lisa joined the show...it was the most exciting time for the whole series run.
She brought new life, fun, music and excitement to older favorites.
