  • that's a lot of meat!

  • Haha..do you believe americans and such countries doesnt have this beautiful animal,,,but they imported it,,kept it in captivity and claim its theirs,,come on,,, you dont have any tiger on your country ,,not even lion =D

  • his face looks kind of sad and emotional

  • If freed my hand to the tiger cage to the status of natural wilderness setting

    really so sad

  • indonesian animals.....

  • R.I.P Snorkal

  • You rock BCR!!!. Keep up the excellent care.

@#darksidehax0rdz - I believe you owe bigcatrescue an apology. So quick with cruel words. Learn all the facts before you so wrongly judge.

  • I live in lakeland and was thinking about visiting are all your cats visible in their feeding cages during the tour times?

  • @anewhope691 The lock out areas are where they are fed in the evening, some cats choose to rest and sleep in these but most are found in their actual enclosures. You will get to see many of our cats, our weekend morning tours are when the cats are most active. Or you could choose to do a feeding tour where you will definitely see our cats up close and hear bones crunching! Visit BigCatRescue*org for more info :)

  • thank you for feeding my son

  • do tigers like spicy food or just plain meat ?

  • @ajazaad Just plain meat!

  • WHAT THE FUCCCCCKKK !!!!!

Why do you have them in small ass cages ? I swear humans are a disease on this earth.

  • @looco08 Our smallest tiger enclosure is 1200 sq feet and range all the way up to 3 acres! The smaller cage attached to his enclosure is just where we feed the cats and where they can find clean water 24/7 :)

  • @BigCatRescue And what gives you the right to put a animal in a cage?. Fucking morons

  • @darksidehax0rd We RESCUE these cats from horrible conditions and provide them with the best life possible in captivity. Without us they would be in far worse situations or dead, please visit our website BigCatRescue*org for info about what we do and why.

  • @darksidehax0rd no your the moron first of all they give these cats a good home second of all you don't need to use fowl language to get your point across

  • @whitetiger769 Fowl language? Is that like, errr, talking like a chicken?

  • will there be a huge "disadvantage" to the tiger if you fed him with cooked instead of raw meat? will that change the animal but not in a good way?

  • @baldassare01 The food would lose much of it's nutrients and I'm not sure how their digestive system would react to cooked meat, raw is natural and best. The big problem would be cooking 500lbs of meat for our over 100 cats everyday! :)

  • @BigCatRescue I was thinking like, would it "civilize" the tiger? so that when it gets used to gourmet food it may probably diminishes its aggressive behaviour. just wondering if that's gonna work.

  • @baldassare01 Not a chance :)

  • These big cats are so beautiful. I am just glad they can be taken care of at these rescue centers so they can be later on be turned back to the wild. It's awful that big cats are treated to poorly. They deserve respect. Once you respect them and show them that they won't be threatened then they can get along with you even though they are very wild. There is a balance of friendship even with the wildest of animals. It's trust and respect and love. These cats are not our enemies. They survive.

  • @BlazingPhoenix05 Unfortunately our cats have never seen the wild and never will, they were captive born and release programs are extremely rare for wild species of cats.

  • Beautiful!! Big cats are gorgeous!

  • Kitty!!!

  • "a select few keepers who have put in over a year of service "

    OVER A YEAR!

Wow! That shows some real dedication to the career.

    :-(

  • i love animals

    i loved this video

  • 1:20.. holy shit!!! look at that cat!!!

  • dont change me....fit me .........argghhhhhh im sick of this add

  • Wow...he was pretty calm with you being that close to his food source.....that's a compliment in cat culture! LOL

  • Letting one rip at 4:03

  • did king come from an especially abusive environment before he was rescued?

  • @keliata He was retired from the circus, this environment is negative for so many reasons...

  • thats what i want to do when im an adult is either volunteer at a sanctuary or open up my own. i think the more places like these the better.

  • why cant u look him in the eyes?

  • @kkandsl They see this as a challenge to them so it's best not to do this especially when food is involved many of our cats are food aggressive.

  • Feeding a tiger at BCR looks a lot more fun then feeding my house cat.

He enjoys banging on my bedroom door every night to tell me he's hungry.

Hope someday I can make the trek to take a tour of Big Cat Rescue.

You guys are doing a great job, I love watching all your videos!

  • BIG KITTY!!! :-)

  • You can't blame King for distrusting the human race

as we are an aweful species.

Why don't you give King bones also?

  • @fuckutube74 He had bad teeth, so we didn't want to do anything to cause injury.

  • @BigCatRescue Cool :)

  • @BigCatRescue Don't bones help an animal sharpen their teeth? Just wondering

  • @TheRealisticPoint They help clean their teeth and help keep them sharp and good :)

  • @fuckutube74 Well, in the case of the chicken, their bones are much too soft and splinter too easily, which could injure the cat.

  • Doesn't he need more space than what's in that cage?

  • @whiskerchild Our smallest tiger enclosure is 1200 sq feet and range all the way up to 3 acres! The smaller cage attached to his enclosure is just where we feed the cats and where they can find clean water 24/7 :)

  • @BigCatRescue Thanx for that info, you should adverise that and tell people

    about the 3 acres

You are doing a wonderful job and we the animal lovers thank you

  • HEY! I WANT MONEY TOO!

  • Do you raise your own cattel for feeding? It might cost less and you can always sell the cow hide.

  • @joebuddyable No we don't :)

  • I wonder if you have ever seen the feeding habits the tiger park in Harbin, China employs. Youtube and: thoughts?

  • @ganixaba Are these the people that feed live "prey" ??

  • @BigCatRescue

um, yes the animals are alive, the point of my question was that they basically throw the animals out to the tigers and let them do their thing

  • @ganixaba Yes, I've seen this, it's basically a practice that isn't needed, it's cruel to the animals and is just another way of making money for these parks that breed and breed these tigers then , they will disappear (trade in tiger parts is very lucrative for asian medicine)

  • scary shet, have anyone of you guy got biten by a tiger while feeding them? and those cage look like it can break easily, if ima visist a tiger like that i perfer bigger bar

  • @TheRunescapePlayerz No, we are accident free and very strict when it comes to who is trained to work around these cats. Our cages may look flimsy but they are very strong and with some flexibility at the same time, they are spot welded on each 4x4 joint making them very durable :)

  • that small fence will break if they run in to it O.o

for god sake by a stronger fence and a higher one..:(

  • @SirAl3xs Looks can be deceiving, the material we use is spot welded on each joint so it remains flexible yet extremely strong and durable :)

  • @BigCatRescue You do an amazing job and are privalidged to work with such majestic creatures.

  • How do you keep the big cats mentally and physically stimulated in their cages?

  • @lemurdue We make all kinds of enrichment for them, bloodcicle, chickcicles, bunny popsicles, we make ditty bags and fill them with different scents etc.. tubes they can tear apart, add new things to their enclosures, make cardboard animals models for them. Plus they get seasonal enrichment, pumpkins at halloween, watermelons in the summer and turkeys at thanksgiving :)

  • thanks for taking good care of them....you are a wonderful person.....god will repay you in many ways.....

  • beautiful animals, easily one of the most amazing that walks the planet currently, but sad too, I think we all know their time isn't long anymore as a species...

  • have you ever had nightmares..... where you had your back turned... forgot to lock the gate behind you..... and when you turned.... there IT was about to rip you to shreads.

  • @orangedac I know I've had nightmares about cats escaping, yep that thought is always there, but I'm happy to say we've never been in that situation :)

  • RIP snorkel

  • What a Beauty!!!

  • your nothing like kevin richardson !!

  • @SunnyDays2407 That's a good thing!

  • @BigCatRescue He/She meant the lion whisperer not the boyband guy.

  • @JosKiddin Yes we were referring to the "lion whisperer"

  • I hate to see animals locked up

  • @YoutubbeAssistant we do too, but we are the best possible home for these unwanted cats, without us rescuing them they would be in far worse situations or dead.

  • @BigCatRescue Is that Shere Khan? Hes built like a bulldozer!

  • @YoutubbeAssistant I so agree!

  • thanks for sharing!!!:)

  • 0:32 - 0:35 ish, GIVE ME MY DAMN FOOD ALREADY, STOP DANGLING IT THERE lol

  • Love your videos and what all of you do is honorable. I love cats just as much. How big can a tiger get? Not how big can they normally get, but how big period.

  • @rrip1 Siberian tigers can get up to 8-900lbs MAX.

  • Where are you guys based and if you are close enough how can I get involved with you guys??

  • @VKDUPW Tampa Florida :)

  • im gonna make it my life long dream to one day work at the big cat rescue with the tigers XD

i really hope that one day comes true

  • R.I.P. King ~ You will always be in our hearts......

  • I don't really care for or trust animals. That's just how I was raised. But I've seen all ur videos and am happy to say they've put animals in a new light for me. I've enjoyed watching them, and I now look at the other big cat animal videos on youtube w/ the knowledge that u guys are the experts. My commendations to u for giving these animals a new home and treating them well. Who knows, maybe I'll learn to like animals more someday.

  • @mcbueggin Thanks for watching our videos, glad you like them and I hope you learn to like animals someday too! :)

  • Is that a Bengal or a Sumatran tiger ????.....

and to have one as a pet what are the req's

  • @joey7286 All our tigers are cross breeds of bengal/siberian. The requirements for each state are different, but we strongly advise against owning these animals, expensive, dangerous and inhumane for the cats most importantly, stick to DOMESTIC cats, visit BigCatRescue*org for more info..thanks!

  • @BigCatRescue Thanks for the rep.. and i am planning to sign up for the internship that u people have in your org. I really appreciate the work that u guys do. Hope to see you soon.

    p.s Im from india :-)

  • Animals DONT BELONG IN CAGES!

  • @SsiberianTigerss We agree, we wish we din't have to exist, but without us these cats would be in far worse situations or dead, we educate the public and are constantly working for better laws regarding captive wildlife, please help at: CatLaws*com Thanks!

  • @BigCatRescue Thanks for the answer. I`m not attacking you guys, as you do a fantastic job. But I`ve seen some videos of animals (tiger and bears) in small steel cages, and it just makes me so sad. Hope some day that regulations world over will set minimum standards, so all captive animas get larger areas with natural envirement to live in, and not small cages of steel.

  • @SsiberianTigerss Thanks for your support, we hope for the same, plus to end the private ownership of big cats :)

  • Hi, folks !!! Gooooood you're alive !!!!!!!!!! I have sent music for you and I wanna know

if there is any experience with music and cats reactions.

  • Kudos, Big Cat Rescue! Great videos of wonderful Critters! Too bad you aren't out here on the West Coast, tho. Would love to visit and volunteer.

  • u guys r doin gud..dun let any1 tells u any differ

  • Tigers are beautiful cats.

  • Do you guys follow the 80% muscle meat, 10% organs and 10% bone rule when feeding raw? Another important question, is it possible for these big cats to get bacterial infections like salmonellosis and E. coli? I know they're highly resistant to it but is it possible? I get weird looks when I say I feed domesticated cats a raw diet but in reality, that's what they're suppose to eat! Please respond, thanks! I really need to know if bacterial infections from salmonella, etc. are common.

  • @ayesha080 We use a balanced carnivore diet that is produced in California, it has all the ground organs, meat, vitamins and nutrients these cats need, it is the best we can find. We then use red meat and chicken as "fillers" and also feed whole prey like rabbits and rats once a week and give them bones when we have them every so often. I will forward your question to our vet and send you the reply :)

  • @BigCatRescue I would really appreciate that! Please ask him/her about the possibility of lions/tigers getting bacterial infections from salmonella, E. coli, etc. Thanks!! :)

  • @ayesha080 And also ask if it's OK for domestic cats to on a raw balanced diet consisting of muscle meat, organs and bones. Thanks!

  • I love you guys so much! I wish I were a part of this. I would do this for the rest of my life even if I didn't get paid. I love animals. How can I join you guys? I'm currently a college sophomore.

  • @ayesha080 You can visit our website BigCatRescue*org for volunteer info :)

  • I love you guys so much! I wish I were a part of this. I would do this for the rest of my life even if I didn't get paid. I love animals. How can I join you guys? I'm currently a college sophomore.

  • this is animal cruelty... fuckin bitch asses. if it were up to me id free those lions. lions arent supposed to be in a fucking cage.

  • @alieco We agree, we wish we didn't have to exist, but we do and we rescue all of our cats from bad situations without us they would be worse off. Lions/tigers cannot be simply released back into the wild this never happens.

  • @alieco: Yes, I agree.

  • @alieco Woooowww...You should do your homework before you make comment like that...These people are doing a wonderful thing at the Big Cat Rescue. Ignorance is harmful sometimes my friend.

  • Thanks for making us all look better.

  • What's King's history? And how did he come to be at BCR?

  • King retired here from the circus, unfortunately he passed away last week, he was an old tiger and had a nice retirement at the sanctuary, he'll be missed :(

  • i hope that tiger eats that fucking idiot

  • *Increasing

  • But certainly you are improving the dignity of the species Homo Sapiens

  • You people are giving humankind a good name, if that's still possible

  • @Harmadaath no they are not, majestetic animals like that should be in the wild.. good human beings work hard to make a good natural home for them in the wild

  • @Harmadaath no, humans still suck, mankind is arrogant and destructive. Just because there are exceptional people, it doesn't mean they justify the actions of others.

  • @esensas -hey with any luck you'll come back as a tiger in your next life

  • damn that looks cage thin.

  • My goodness!! JESUS and GOD spent alot of time making these big cats and domestic cats the most beautiful of ALL creatures in the animal kingdom!!! i think.

  • damn all that red meat looks tasty, hope the tiger gets his excersise so he doesn't get fat

  • I have a question about the Big Cat Rescue 3 month internship at the tampa location

  • 送肉餵虎!!!!!!!!!(台語)

  • 送肉餵虎(台語)!!!!!!!!

  • those cage don't look that strong are those enough to hold them back?, what if they riot? D=

  • Our enclosures look deceptive, they are spot welded on every single joint and are somewhat flexible while remaining solid. Very simple designs, but 100% safe :)

  • Yeah, I work in a data center and certain customers prefer cages as opposed to having racks out on the floor. Our cages are built the same way, only instead of being straight metal wire, they are wavy so that they still won't move. Those little metal bars are stronger than they look.

  • nice video , god job men for help the animals

  • Animal tamer fighting for life after being mauled by three tigers in 'playful' attack as horrified audience looks on

This is the headline in today's British Daily Mail. 3 of 5 "tame" tigers mauled a trainer when he lost his footing during a dinner performance. More proof, if any is needed, that these beautiful big cats are not toys for the entertainment of man. I hope the man recovers. Fortunately, the tigers will not be put down - after all, they ARE tigers!

  • Yep, it's a shame that things like this continue to happen both in the entertainment industry and in private homes. These animals will never be tame, deserve much better and still it is LEGAL in the USA to own these animals as so called "pets"

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Who would win between a lion and tiger? People on youtube seem to care and now I'm curious.

  • We get this question a lot, of course this would never happen in the wild and it depends on the individual cat?

  • nice videos, you're a legend :P

  • Being a relatively sane person, I have an appreciation of the inherent danger in dealing with these animals. I'm wondering if you have seen any of the extraordinary videos right here on Youtube of a man named Kevin Richardson and his work with lions in South Africa? If so, how do you feel about such intimate relationships with large feline predators? He says he loves what he does and has no fear of the animals he interacts with, although he is aware of their power and the potential danger.

  • I guess I just view these actions as accidents waiting to happen, these are very large predators that never lose those wild instincts no matter how much time you have spent with them. It only takes something to catch their eye and if you're in the way that means big trouble! What do you think?

  • Dear BigCatRescue: I must say that I have ambivalent feelings about what Mr. Richardson, and others like him, are doing. I agree that they are walking on thin ice and that these very powerful predators could crush them at any time. On the other hand I find it inspirational that someone has taken that step to establish such a rapport with these animals. Have you seen the video on the man in Alaska interacting with wild bears? Foolish perhaps, but I can't help but admire them for what they do.

  • I think it's just foolish, why would you interact with wild bears? Leave them alone to do what they do and just observe, we all know what happened to grizzly man! Most of these people just want to feel unique and special.

  • I think you missunderstand that some humans want to get close to other animals to understand them better even if it means costing their own human lives. You can call it foolish, but its human nature to be overly social and interact with everything because if that werent true humans would not be doing things like beastiality. Not all humans want to be with, or be a human. Everyone should respect everyone including non-humans, but shouldn't critize those who want to be part of the animal kingdom.

  • weirdo

  • @QwertyoPIZ

the problem with people getting so close to wild animals is when they get hurt the animal will probably be killed for it. in any conflict between animals and people the animal will be hunted and killed. If you truly love them do whats best for them and leave them be.

  • We have been all over the country, new england, ohio, Mississippi, Minnesota, Louisiana and more!

  • That one cage that you open and close to let the cat in and out. So you can feed it without worrying about the danger of the animal. Has the gate ever closed on the cats tail? Cause that animal is large enough. Where its tail actually could get caught in that gate.

King, that is one large Tiger. It's actually larger around and taller. Than the person that was actually feeding the thing. I see why you called it King.

  • Hi, that is what we call the "lock-out" very simple idea but very safe way to do various things with the animal and observe them from every angle when we feed them. We place the food in there with the door already down, then when it's all in place we use the rope to lift the door and clip it in place so there's no danger of the animal's tail getting trapped.

  • Ok :) but can u answer my other question please?????

  • Lions are just built tough, I have no idea if there spines are protected differently to say a bobcat. But they must be looking at footage of them hunting?

  • and another question....if you dont agree with the Richardsons story then what about the christian the lion story. To me that lion was a different and they actually had a special bond with him.

  • I guess Christian was the exception to the rule, of course they had a bond with him they kept him for a long time, it was a very good move on their part to realize he was getting too big and aggressive to relocate him to africa :)

  • Question, How developed is the female lions spine? I was watching animal planet and they showed alot of footage of the lioness tackling its prey and throwing it to the ground but usually they would end up hitting the ground first and having the prey roll over them, they must have several tiny vertebrae BUT are they protected by a thick muscle they seem to hit the ground at a velocity that looks like it would break their backs....

  • Has anyone at Bigcatrescue ever heard of Kevin Richardson, the South African "Lion Whisperer?"

There are vids of him kissing, snuggling, and hugging lions, and there's no question that they love the attention---even the grown males are as pleased as pups.

Some people think he's crazy. But those lions really love his attention. What do you think of him?

  • It's just a matter of time until one lion doesn't want the attention one day and let's him no about it, that will be a painful day! Doing stupid stuff like that goes against what we tell people, these cats are not "pets" they are dangerous unpredictable animals that kill things bigger than people! So many big cats are suffering horrible conditions in the USA because people buy them thinking it's going to be cool to own a tiger/lion then discover that it isn't and can't afford to look after them

  • Dee didn't tell you the whole story. The guy's a zoologist and animal behaviorist who is in charge of the animals at a large predator reserve in South Africa.

He hand reared all of the lions (over 38 at this point) he personally interacts with and is very careful about interacting with them like that. Though it does result in the videos seen on youtube.

However, he's been doing this for almost 11 years now without a single injury to show for it... so I'm guessing he's doing something right.

  • Do you know why they breed?

  • The place is called "Lion Park". It's a 1600 acre wildlife preserve that takes in rescued animals as well as breeding its own.

From what I understand, the place advertises itself as tourist location where people can take a ride through the park, buy souvenirs, get lunch, etc.

It also hires out some of its lions and hyenas, specifically the ones that Kevin works the most with, for commercials, movies, and documentaries. They also promote awareness for large, endangered predators.

  • It sounds like they breed cute cuddly cubs to draw in the paying public and then force them to "perform" for the camera, not things we agree with I'm afraid :(

  • Pretty much. The cats aren't really forced to do do anything, though. They get to sit around in a large space and be lazy most of the time. Kevin usually take the same few lions on shoots, but he rarely ever even seems to trick them into it... they seem to genuinely like following him around.

In all honesty it's a much better life than they'd have in a zoo or the wild. Ulterior motives aren't an issue with me so long as the animals are happy and the cause of preservation is forwarded.

  • A better life than living in the wild? I doubt this, they probably follow him all the time because he feeds them and as smaller treats to give them when they do tricks??

  • Well, think about it. In Lion Park, they live a lot longer have regular meals, access to vets, and a 3 square mile chunk of land to play with. These are the cubs of rescued animals... they'd be almost impossible to release... and it'd be to a life of getting shot at by poachers.

And you're right, a lot of the apparent affection is probably due to regular feeding... though you'd probably like someone if they fed you every day too. And he doesn't deprive them of food if they don't follow him.

  • Are you saying they breed cubs, or the cubs are rescued?

  • The whole preserve... or at least the lion section, started with a few rescued animals. As far as I know, none are ever captured or bought. Since then, they still take in animals for rescuing, but they also don't prevent their lions from having cubs.

Occasionally, a lioness will stop milking her cubs, or ignore them or some such. Kevin takes these and hand raises them. Some of them (depending on their attitudes, etc.) eventually end up in commercials.

  • It still sounds to me that they breed these cats and take the cubs away from their mother? Either way making wild cats perform for commercials is wrong :(

  • Well, they only take the cubs away when the mother rejects them. So, say if she were to stop milking or kill one of them.

It's not so much perform as pose, but you're right... it'd be better if they didn't need to. Still, the animals seem to enjoy the activities and the ones who go on commercials are also trusted enough to get taken on trips out of the park.

I'd be a lot more dubious of this place if they didn't record more of their activities and Kevin wasn't an accredited animal behaviorist.

  • In our eyes, breeding cats unless they're part of a species survival plan is not a good thing to be doing, breeding for a life in captivity. You can never trust a lion, tiger or any big cat for that matter!

  • I suppose it's still technically breeding if you're simply not preventing them from having cubs?

Honestly, I don't think they have a bad life at the preserve. 3 square miles is almost the same amount of space they'd use as a territory in the wild.

    I'm certainly no expert, though.

You should check out some of the videos on youtube and tell me what you think. I'm very interested in what you think of the man's interactions with the cats.

"Dangerous Companions" I believe is a popular one.

  • It's just not right lions using green screens and hyenas riding around in cars, this isn't what they are meant to be doing. instead of breeding more and more cubs why not spay/neuter then rescue instead?

  • Probably because they aren't a non-profit organization. It's a shame that not every organization can do what you guys do... but I guess these guys are better than, say, a zoo or even a lot of the non-accredited sanctuaries.

They seem to put a lot of effort into the comfort and life of their cats... and Mr. Richardson's interactions with the animals have done wonders towards big predator conservation awareness.

I suppose that's why I don't mind them... though everyone's entitled to their view.

  • If u raise them from birth you can. Most of the accidents that happen with people who raise them from birth are they forget when they get bigger how much stronger they are then there owner thats how most accidents happen.

  • Hey! I need a new home! I'm really sweet :)
