Guns really aren't dangerous. I don't know why people fear them so much, and a lot of the gun control laws are strange. Where I hunt we have to cross a road to get back home, and I'm not allowed to walk across the road with my weapon loaded. This perplexes me, but I have to follow these rules. Although I like open carry, I think it is smart to carry concealed to keep people from freaking out or from even knowing that I carry. If their are lots of conceal carry folks in a community, criminals never know what they might be getting into. Open carry also has its advantages.

I agree with you 100% basically common sense will tell you that "may issue" really means "rarely issues". Where as in constitutional states "shall issue" really means "if there's nothing legally stopping you from owning a weapon the license is issued". God bless all 40 "shall issue" states. "Arms" in the 1780s as like as not meant sabres as much as firearms. And the firearms(with the exception of the newly designed Pennsylvania long rifle were wildly inaccurate except at very close range. And took almost a minute to re-load. Technology changes the whole dynamic and so you need to change the law.
The only problem with those who legally open carry is, their guns aren't loaded. If a criminal knows this, the open carry person is just as vulnerable as someone unarmed. No one can load a gun that fast. The only real advantage they have, is they see someone else getting robbed. They should have self defense training to "slow down" the robber before loading.

First off, if the guy or girl is a real, hardened criminal, and they are armed, they will see you as a threat. If they have it in their mind to rob a place, and use whatever means necessary, they obviously don't care. You don't like seeing someone openly carry an unloaded gun. Fine! Why not make it easier for a law abiding citizen with the training and experience to have a CCW instead?!?!!? Although I like open carry, I think it is smart to carry concealed to keep people from freaking out or from even knowing that I carry. If their are lots of conceal carry folks in a community, criminals never know what they might be getting into. Open carry also has its advantages.

"Arms" in the 1780s as like as not meant sabres as much as firearms. And the firearms(with the exception of the newly designed Pennsylvania long rifle were wildly inaccurate except at very close range. And took almost a minute to re-load. Technology changes the whole dynamic and so you need to change the law.

The only problem with those who legally open carry is, their guns aren't loaded. If a criminal knows this, the open carry person is just as vulnerable as someone unarmed. No one can load a gun that fast. The only real advantage they have, is they see someone else getting robbed. They should have self defense training to "slow down" the robber before loading.

First off, if the guy or girl is a real, hardened criminal, and they are armed, they will see you as a threat. If they have it in their mind to rob a place, and use whatever means necessary, they obviously don't care. @swatcapt11 So basically you can just pull a knife on them and take there gun? I practice my draw and by no means am I slow, but I could not see loading a mag and racking a round in a self defense situation.

fyi the police have no constitutional right to protect you. that means if you call the police and they dont show up and the person kills you, then your family cant sue the police department. i think you should do more research before you "openly speak"

@staywhereurat no its not. its a past time tradition of this country. what do you think? we have a system that rivals the "minority report' anti crime unit? get out of here. facts are facts. stricter gun laws equals more crime. look at washington d.c. before they reversed the handgun ban. justice system works fine with laws such as, if an invader enters your home you can shoot them. much like the meghan brown , the pageant winner who shot and killed an intruder who meant to do her harm. stupid!

I wonder why the anti-gun activists are always confronting and lecturing law-abiding citizens but never confronts or lecture criminals with illegally obtained guns? Maybe they feel safer when confronting law abiding citizens with guns or maybe they know for certain that law abiding citizens are negotiable and criminals are not?
