@guitarofvelocity No man, that's simply accompaniment in an odd signature timing, you know, "off" the beat instead of on it. Counterpoint is several "LEADING" voices/melodies all equally heard that may even go in diferent directions but still complementing each other.

He can play, no doubt, very smooth. But he plays the same thing in all these videos. Very weak tone. I agree with the chromatic thing being done to death. the same lick no less! Gimmes some old VH or Hendrix or Yngwie. so much personality in those guys' playing. It ain't about being the fastest anymore. Or was it ever?!
