Actually, I'm glad that didn't happen! Think about it. If Dobby had killed Bellatrix, then Mrs. Weasley wouldn't have said "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!" and that was the most epic line in the book. I'm sad that Dobby died, but if he had killed Bellatrix Mrs. Weasley wouldn't have killed her, and Mrs. Weasley needed her time to shine in the war!
