Serena didn't do anything spectacular in this match, but still won anyway.. Just shows that Safina really sux and I'm clueless as to how she became the world no.1 player.I think the WTA should really revise the points system. The should make grandslam champions the number ones and not players like Jankovic, Safina and Wozniacki who haven't won a GS ever..

@bouncingsiopao Yes she did do something spectacular. Evry1 knows that. Don't take nothing from her just because she's dominant to the point she made it look easy. No other woman can play with such power and precision, so it's easy for someone to claim that the other player was not up to par. If that had been anyone else on the other side of that net, Dinara woulda done better. She became # 1 by playing anyone but Serena and she won several tournaments. Wta's ranking system is fine.

@twarren20 For ur information I wasn't taking anything away from Serena, u just misinterpreted what i wrote. Serena didn't have to play her very best tennis to beat Safina in this match.. Safina just sucks, Serena is a great champion and is the best player of the current generation. If u think the WTA's ranking system is fine then why is Caroline Wozniacki the world no.1 when she can't even make a grandslam final, and she can't even beat the Williams sisters or Clijsters.

i agree with ppl that clijsters is a good player but she isnt gonna make much of a difference because although she won the us open it was at the end of the season where she had a clear advantage being a fresh player and she had little to no pressure to win next year would prove to be much more difficult for both clijsters and henin although i think henin's career isnt going to be nearly as good as it was.
