THANK you for posting this. I love her! And great job on the editting too! My dad was named Charles and I was named a feminine version but not Charly, always wished i was especially after she hit the scene. (and 4 the perfume) here's a big woo whoo for you & keep 'em coming! :-O
sometimes in my day to day life, things get so hard sometimes, and you listen to this junk they call music today, and I just get frustrated. then I'll click on a Charly video, and I just breath a deep sigh and thank God she came along, and that magical voice and beautiful face just makes it all become alot easier to handle. Love you Charly
Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Sugarland, and many more, should all sleep at night with this type music playing, all night. Maybe they could learn to sing like this, instead of that " puke crap" they put out.
I'm not knocking the young country girls, cause Charly was different and new, but God Almighty, this kind of voice and beauty only comes along rarely, guess that's why there has never been another Charly McClain and never will be, I love her so much
My wife and I went to see her in Marshall Tx. I sat right by the isle and had worked a 14 hr shift. And I went to sleep.Next thing I know someone was tapping me on the shoulder, it was Charly, standing in the isle next to me,she was grinning and still singing, my wife moved over and she sat next to me and sung the next song,After she finished I apologized for going to sleep and explained I had worked 14 hrs .She said that's OK. and went back onstage, but it embarrassed the crap out of me.
they released a 2 cd set from england or europe that has a lt-the most of charlie, but its crazy expensive- you can get 2 or3 on amazon for about 8$ including postage, plus the liquor bill , other song that come to mind-someday soon, stampley and boggus, a lot of mickey gilley, mel mc daniel, gary morris. rodney crowell, google up the top selling/airplay songs- i would say pick 1-2 hundred for each year , and feel what its like to be a mortal human, key words: ennui, angst, existential crisis.
Hello, i have been trying to locate a song by charlie and cannot find it. its called Crazy hearts, i love the song could you please help me.... thanks Kris
How did we go from this to noise like Sugerland? I will always be grateful to live and be part of the good time loven Honkey Tonken dancen 80's and 90's. I was there from George to Garth. Thank you God
tulsa2stepper- if your still out there i couldnt agree with you more, altough some of these songs can tear the heart right out of me-- how i miss the drive ins,big hair, fast cars without all citizens reporting on you with there cell phones no mips! and i guess being younger-- my friends have grown up my god i hope i never have to----- cheer's to the good old days, harpozzzzz
are you from tulsa too? this song has some big meanings for a teen back in those days...........I was with a "first" with this song and the drive-ins in T-town in the late 70's.
Sorry it took me a while to respond,no I from Colorado but we had about 8 in the metro area now,of course, there are none and every one has a cell phone to report your ass and put you in a corporate prison, as a slave laborer. She tears me up-its funny tears (crying) and being ripped apart are spelled the same here. Most of her songs are like that and since we are not constantly bombarded by them they take us back to bittersweet ground zero. remember-burgers and fries by charley pride, OUCH!
@tulsa2stepper yeh and I was there from Johnny Horton to the present......and I can tell you there was a lot of good country music going way back my friend........
This song really brings me back. Thanks for posting this. Easily one of the most beautiful songs ever. Does anyone know if it is possible to find this on CD? It seems to be a rather difficult song to find.
Thank you so much for posting this. This is one of my favorite Country songs. I'd love to find a wife like Charly McClaine. She's beautiful and very talented.

I wish people in more liberal areas like DC/Baltimore would get into this stuff. It's really calming an a region known for rock/hip hop/R&B.

I know what you mean, for I feel the same way about the direction that country music has went. I'd rather listen to music from that era any day.

I am also from Tulsa. My mom loves Charly and raised me on her, Jane Frinke, and all the other late 70s-80s singers. Now thats country!
