Thanks for using Lingít in this video. I'd love to see this video in at least two other versions. This one is almost entirely in English (which is good for many, but not all purposes). How about another which is about half and half with the same ideas repeated in both languages, sometimes first in Lingít, sometimes first in English (a method good for many, but not all purposes). And a third version almost entirely in Lingít with English used only when necessary.
no a Koo.eex' is something held a year after a loved one has passed. this Koo.eex' is how the whole clan ends their mourning period for this person who died. all members mourning never ends but as a clan that is what a Koo.eex' is for. end the mourning and bring in the fun time again when the family of the lost loved one can finally dance again, and/or eat foods that one is not allowed to eat after a loved one's death. good shot at trying to explain. keep learning.
