There about 3 to 5 grand. Some of my good friends are 501st legion. I'm trying to get a biker scout armor put together but I'll be needing to spend close to 4 grand.

Do you wonder if somewhere out there they are real?. And if they are, waht if they came to Earth one day to conquer the planet?. The way body armor and weapons design is moving toward the future this parade could a preview of the future military forces in real life. If so, what choice could you make, surrender and join then, or fight them off the planet?. All of theses are interesting questions.

@56LC you are kidding right? a lonely teenager wanting to leave home and make his own adventure and his coming of age, division in the family unit, totalitarian rule and the desire to rebel against it, racism, religion being used for both right and wrong, the threat of weapons of mass destruction and genocide. These are all dealt with in the star wars films. Just because there are flashy space ship and unrealistic technologies doesn't mean it doesn't relate to our society.

This was at the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California about 2 and a half years ago. It was a one time deal but the 501st do meet up at other conventions.

Star Wars is far from over. The animated series and live action series will come out over the next couple years. There is also Celebration 4 in LA that happens in May. Star Wars is alive and kicking!

Well I guess you could think of this parade as geekness at first glance. Now consider this : the 501st is not simply a whole bunch a nerdz fooling around in costume. We pay visit to kids that are stuck in hospitals, rise funds for charities, and so on...

I was part of the parade (A company, 1st platoon, Albin's section) and I am very proud of it because I know it was a dream for a lot of kids and grown up to see those caracters in reality !!!

well I must say that seeing the 501st walk through the parade is what brought me to watch it. After you guys were done I pretty much left because I saw what I wanted to see. Whoot!... Hooray for the Eagle and Girl Scouts at the beginning of the vid!... I was one of the Eagle Scouts in the Parade this year... They did their best to keep Mr. Lucas away from people... but I was sneaky and got to stand next to him... until an offcial pulled me away... I was so close I coulda punched him!... Thanks for recording this... I missed all the stromtroopers
