That Card Sharks 01 should have never been made in the first place, a piece of crap trap, i'm glad it made my list of the worst shows of the decade, truly awful.
I remember watching not only the first episode where Richard met his wife, but at least three others; they won Fast Money twice in the three episodes I watched, so he got to see quite a bit of her on the show.
In addition I also wanted to see a recreation of the old triangular survey board, like what they did on Gameshow Marathon in 2006 - that was fun to watch.
I saw the premiere tonight, and I was quite disappointed with the format. I wish they had followed the same format as the old All-Star Feud Specials - with one match, a Fast Money Round for, say, $25,000; then a second match, another FM round, and a one question final round between the winning families with one final FM round for $50,000.
Plus, I had anticipated hearing all the old faceoff cues from Ray's version, not just the main theme from then, albeit I liked hearing it.
Yeah, Rumor has it that Dawson disliked the Bankroll game. I guess some people don't like change that much. There is one thing I learned when I took my Co-op and Step Classes back in high school which is even if you don't like either your co-workers or something that is part of your job, you just have to learn to deal with it.
I am not a fan of the Bankroll/Bullseye Game either. Maybe if the banks had started at $10,000 and could be built up to $20,000 or $25,000 it would be more interesting. But it simply cut into the main game too much - having only one single round sucked!
It was clear after this series that Richard Dawson's style was best left in the older days, But speaking of Richard I wodner what he thinks of the current host John O' Hurley, I know he did not approve of Louie Anderson a few years ago.
how did they determine which family member played the bankroll game...must've been random. One family had the second member play, while the other had the fourth member play.
Question- why GSN can't air the 1994 version of FEUD? also... what the hell happen to the COMBS version and third- what this the reason why, he had to stop kissing the ladies? He's from ENGLAND... they do that, b/c it's part of their TRADITION
I love this video also!! It is so good to see RD make a remarkable comeback in 1994-1995. I can't believe that he married Gretchen Johnson(she looks so good!!), and has a 4 year old daughter Shannon(so cute!!). I am so glad to see him on the air again, and he is my favorite game show host of all time.
There were no flashing lights, just glass blocks, a computer generated board, no Family Feud floor logo, and no moving parts, but the background did shift from dark blue to light red.
Question #01- I heard, the people of the FEUD, brought the original FEUD LOGO with the new style and same oval shape? Have you seen it, check it FAMILY FEUD logo.
Question #02- the game board, is that a TV screen board or what? What happen to the original game board?
Question 03- what happen to the long STRIKE buzzer sound from 1988-2002 version and the long ringing bell sound, when the team wins the money/point and the game?
in the studio, they saw answers up on the fast money board. everything that we saw (minus fast money) are computer graphics added later on (including the bankroll thingy)
I like this Set, They should use this set today instead of the current one on John O'Hugley's version,This was a good version wish it lasted longer. And they should still use the theme.Richard Dawson is the best host.
auctually, The O'Hurley theme music was better and I wished they still used the Louie Anderson theme music cause, the intro for Anderson's was awesome.
True- John Parker did the new theme of FAMILY FEUD; when he did it, he added a portion of the original theme, if you read the ending credits. Also, you can't beat this FEUD version- with the re-recording of the original theme... I wish they can bring it back on the FEUD. Come on, they brought the original set back, originial format and John O'Hurley's doing good, being the host #05, of Family Feud.
Question- Why don't they have the winning bell sound?
I doubt any of us know the answer to that. But I DO know this: Any questions that had 4 answers or less, all those answers were placed in the center. Don't ask me why on that, either, because I don't know.
They do have a bell sound however, they play the music so loud that we can't hear it but I think next season they may fix it, on the other hand, they tried the 1988 theme music when Karn was hosting but ratings started to decline after 2 months.
#01- who was the person, who did the remix or jazzy theme of FAMILY FEUD and I wish that can bring the theme, on the John O'Hurley version, that comes on in the afternoon. Also, where is the world is Richard Dawson now these days?? Bring back him one more special or for one month special of his old friends and family members? Come on!!!
smpage09 - The top scoreboard was originally going to display the dollar amounts for the Bullseye questions ($1000, $3000, etc)...but they nixed the idea and displayed the amounts on the big board instead.
It was an hour, but there were two half-hour standalone games. Some affilates only carried the second show (including the one in my city, unfortunately).
Can anyone explain why the score display at the top of the board has four digits? I noticed this in the Combs "Bullseye" version but i don't think they used the fourth place holder.
The set was great, Dawson seemed a little too sedate however. Even though he had a large ego from 76-85 he's just not the same. Its always great to hear Gene Wood announcing. Could've done good with Combs.
I must admit, Richard Dawson is one incredible host. His family was wonderful to have an appearance on the show.
Ray Combs was not that bad a host, sad enough to know he got the boot in '94, with Dawson coming back. I know excitement went around.
But, I like the intro a whole lot with the hue coloring around the logo, and the sketches and what-not. It really could've looked like a success to me.
Although I wasn't fond of the new format(4 family members) I always admired Richard Dawson - his embracing charm & comically rapier wit. He was the best FF Host ever! Ray Combs, IMHO, being the worst (too curt with people, tightwound, rushing the contestants, short attention span, got irritated when a contestant was funnier, too stern with the buzzer control, etc).
BRING BACK RAY COMBS!!!

@amit790 Very similar indeed. Makes me wonder if Richard hated the Bankroll round as well.

This version of the Feud was the second worst for me besides the Louie Anderson waste they threw at us.

But at least louie anderson's family feud was better than that truly dreadful card sharks 01.

U got that right. The worst game show revival ever. They should have brought back Bob Eubanks for that.
