There should still be some unused new in the box Amiga 1200's still being sold from a company in France, England and I think also Canada called AmigaKit. They were Amiga's that were never sold after Commodore and Escom went bust.
@Mexicanwaluigi The Amiga was massively popular right across Europe, the UK and Australia with at least 5000 games produced for it. Yes the Atari and Apple were popular but so was the Amiga, just not in America.
After that, install a program called WHDLoad and you'll have your disposal at least 2000 Amiga games that you can run from the Hard Drive including Turrican 2 :)
If you have the money, get hold of an Amiga 1200 with at least 4 meg of extra ram mimimum, a internal HD for it, CD drive and an install of Classic Workbench for its OS
I had to watch this video again, it's brilliant and i love your commentary on the Amiga :) You know you're a true gamer when you have bridged the gap with such an alternative system. Massive respect from Australia :)
ive never played this system before but ive never really been a PC gamer i own only like 5PC games i remember all the good games and try to forget the retarded ones lol im sure theres some out there i have forgot about ima say they are manly NES games tho
Never played any of these games. Was never a side scroller/platform fanatic. My favorites tended to be more of the sim games like settlers and wings. If you are interested in Turrican 2, you can find the roms and run it on a Amiga emulator like WinUAE.
Well this is similar to my Apple II experience, namely Buck Rogers: Planet of Zoom. Apple II's aren't rare as Amiga's tho and most games were available for Atari, or Dos. Heck you can even play Apple II emulators in Java on virtualapple . org but yeah lots of good memories playing Buck Rogers
Great episode. Although I didn't have an Amiga, the way you talked about revisiting old games from your past and your opening statement shows how games from your past tend to fade from your memory. Fortunately for me, games I remember from my past I have in my collection now so I can go all nostalgic from time to time.
Seen a few auctions for Turrican II on the Amiga on ebay but since I am from the UK, don't think they will work unless its region-free.
I traded my Megadrive for an Amiga 500+ somewhere around 1992 (and re-bought it later on). Great memories. Some of the greatest game music!! Great titles you got there. There were so many other cool games that I .....can't remember :) I do remember Moonstone however. And Heimdall and Midnight Resistance *slips into nostalgia*
@HLGFreeman I keep hearing about Moonstone. Apparently I have to play it! Heimdall I originally thought could have been what ended up being Myth, simply because it had the Norse theme I remember from Myth.
For instance, I find that, for me, resizing from my normal stock 50% setting to 100% vertical stretch helps things a lot. If you can't stretch out that far because you are already at like 70%, keep in mind that you can increase it to 100% and then DECREASE the horizontal the rest of the way. This will make things letterboxed at this point but it still looks way better.
oh and by the way, .. the aspect ratio on this is WAY screwed up.
I'm not trying to be a dick since I almost guarantee you didn't realize it until uploading it.. but.. how does this keep happening? Every video from this one to professional productions seems to have major issues with this.
People need to understand aspect ratios better, especially if they plan on making videos.
Luckily, you can fix this by using the vertical resize thing on your monitor settings
I haven't watched it yet, I'm just excited to see someone cover something different =P
Now if only you also had an Apple II GS, my first computer. People don't seem to realize that the, while backwards compatible with the old-school Apple IIs, the Apple II GS was super powerful for the time.
I really think your opening statements about being a lifelong gamer were spot-on and well said; I've been a gamer for 30 years now, and I know just what you mean when you speak of fading (and sometimes recurring) memories.
At any rate, very nice job on the review as always, Sindra.
I would say it's easily the best, most fascinating and interesting episode you've done. Like I said, I was excited for you changing things up. I don't mean that like YOU always do the same thing, but just in general over YouTube. I wasn't expecting this to be your next episode.
I'm glad you had fun doing it though, you can definitely tell. Great, great stuff. I will be adding you to my daily-check-youtube list that doesn't include many people in it really.

@Skyrift Thanks, Sky. Always appreciated.
I seriously couldn't believe I found these games after 15+ years, though. I only have snippets of memory, too. This was an accomplishment on my part.
