just put water in water area cause the chlorine evaporates quickly like in a few hours,, but when u filing up the water area agian-just have the tap water already in recycled bottles cause by the time u wanna use them the water is pretty much free of the chlorine,, my fiancé does this with our self sustained gold fish water pond barrel,, an he also knows a great deal about raising animals of all sorts,, we even raise our own chickens,, well good luck with ur lil cute pet*)

@wern900 i use tap water to refill my RES tank. have for 7 years. every site i went to said so long as the water is safe for human consumption, you can use it for your turtle. i switch between tap water and well water, which is decidedly not safe for me to drink as it is contaminated with salmonella due to cows living near by. the well draws ground water and river water. RES live in the river behind my house. Dana is not wild caught btw. he was a gift from a family that bought him at a pet store

dude... pls pay attention: yout turtle needs a basking spot, that's a place here it can get out of the water, dry it's shell and get sun. It is very important so that the turtle regulats its temperature. pls do it fast ur else it will die... beleave me i ad one and i didnt have a basking spot and it died. now i have a new one and its happy cus its got a basking spot, it gets some sun and it has space to swim. also... only use large gravel so tjhat the turtel doesn't swallow the rocks .

Very cute and under five bucks but how much will the water bill end up as while you keep adding more water to your tank and makin it overflow. Use a filter. It keeps the tank clean and buy one of those that looks like a rock waterfall filter since you guys are nuts about a waterfall. And careful with racoons cause my friend was a kid and ignorant and used a net to protect the turtle but eventually the next day they were gone
