I don't think this song is anti-religion, when I listen to it I imagine it to be about helping a friend/loved one though harsh times, and showing them that even when you feel like you're in hell, you're not alone if you have friends to pull you out of it. I always tell people arguing religion that they're both right. There is no God. If you call on him, he won't answer. If you search the whole universe for him, you'll never find him.
