Top fuel reaches 280 mph in about 660 ft with an avergae 1/4 mile time of 4-5 sec on average.
Veyron has a top speed 267 mph and a 1/4 mile time of 10 + sec.
Side note the Veyron IS NOT the fastest street legal car in the world. It is the fastest production car though. The Red Victor One is currently the fastest street legal pump fuel car. Running 2300 hp, 0-60 mph in 1 sec, 1/4 mile is around 7.5 sec.
I was there watching this at Willowbank Raceway the drivers are Andrew Cowin and Jim Read, Andrews pass was the quickest and fastest in Australia for some time after this. Its great to find something that brings back such a happy memory, thanks for posting this.

yeah they are special block, grout filled tiny cooling system, methanol, unstreetable, 11,000rpm titanium valve stretching, 56psi real engines... Dont get me wrong i love sport compact cars. But to say a skyline or any of the 2jz's resemble a street engine because they use the block, which is filled, is stupid

I HAVE seen both in person and nitro cars put on a better show by far.
Add on to the fact that most 10.5 cars run on shitty 1/8 mile tracks and shut off so soon that they don't even get any speed going.

Well i like 10.5 better...Don't get me wrong i think nitro car are amazing..but 3 or 4 sec and it's done...not fun to me..10.5 are pulling the wheels off the ground and more...just depends on what you like...
