I'm getting distrustful to mainstream medicine and always getting more interest in alternative medicine such as native american and chinese medicine. I didn't get a job this summer so I am using the time to acquaint myself with the healing powers of plants. This is an amazing world I'm discoverinh though this. I used to see plant as just plants but now I give attention to single species. I feel much more connected to the nature than before.

Native medicines were taught to the native people by observing the animals - White men were taught the medicines by the native people and then exploited both the native people and the medicines. Now, many are created in labratories by greedy power hungry conglomerates. The wisdom of the medicines have been lost to the ambitions of the white man.

Agreed, but also lost to the hopeless feelings of the First People, loss of habitat, introduction of non-native plants, fences keeping wildlife from living amongs us, it could go on and on.

Most of the animals that we learned from in the first place are still hear in the most part, and still do their jobs. They are just as trapped as all of us in modern society, animals that once fed freely eat garbage to survive. In order to learn properly - Rat Race has to go!

Not unlike First People, the white man used to follow natures laws, ancient Celtic being the perfect example. Most people in general have fallen from the natures law path. I mean no disrespect in saying so.

There is no doubt that exploitation is abound, but nearly all of earth's population could do a much better job of living amonst nature instead of at her expense.

Are the traditions of native americans in USA much different that in Latin America? floody20 - i believe that is a Native American flute. I have one of them myself. They are made in many different keys, but are designed and played unlike other flutes. Instead, they are played more like a recorder. They typically have five holes, although Lakota flutes have a sixth hole providing a half-note. It is a very soothing and healing sound, isn't it? R. Carlos Nakai and Robert "Tree" Cody are my two favorite Native American musicians and make fantastic use of the flute.

doctors gave me xanax to help anxiety & sleep. i said im not taking this crap! i got some chamomile tea. when i drink it it relaxes me & im able to sleep.

i try to use mostly natural things. man made things that are synthetic materials should not be consumed. its poison. thats why there are so many more diseases these days. look whats in the food most people eat and prescriptions are passed out like its nothing.

Native Americans did descend from Asiatic people. However, given the tens of thousands of years since and the vastly different environments it is fair to also say that Native Americans are no longer a sub-group of Asiatic people but have clearly become their own peoples and cultures.
