Lie about your wish probably is meaning that the other person needs to lay out where their wishes are. Basically, "Give up your unrealistic dreams, and look at what you want." Or it could be lie, as in lying, which would make that very obvious as to what he meant, lol

It may sound similar to Stein Um Stein-mainly in the chorus- but I still hear a lot of more distinct aspects as well. Of course the guitar bits are going to mirror Rammstein's stuff since Richard is the lead guitarist to both. I think it silly to say though that the songs are carbon copies of one another when there are these subtle differences. Epic music takes on many forms and some of them just so happen to sound similar on occasion.

@gerrrardi - Actually In My Tears was written before Stein Um Stein my friend ;) Alot of Emigrate material (this song included) was written before Reise Reise was released by Rammstein. Rammstein heard this song and liked the riff so much that they asked Richard could they use it again for Stein Um Stein :)

I can agree with trivium - i noticed recently that the lyrical pattern and refrain is similar to the end of stein um stein. The only explanation - and my friend made me aware of it - is that Richard was not happy how the riff was used in stein um stein. Perhaps the lyrical pattern was Richard's idea too. Just a thought.

Actualy, I've heard that Richard came up with this riff for Emigrate, but other members of Rammstein liked it so much that they asked him to reuse it in rammstein as well, so that riff was originaly writen for Emigrate.

I think thats a realy good song, but I also think that there is a wide difference between these song and "Stein um Stein".

"Stein um Stein" by Rammstein is more powerfull (also the Text if you can understand it)

You can hear in there everytime the drums and Till (the singer) in a dominant and commanding way.

But in "In my tears" the voice and the instruments are everytime gently, also in the "harder" refrain it is not as commanding as "Stein um Stein".

But anyway I like both songs :-)
