Animism - the belief that everything has a soul including objects - is a very common belief around the world, so it's not at all weird or crazy and others are just being close minded. If you don't believe in that, then yeah, probably being in love with a building would seem weird to you. But I wouldn't call it weird, the belief in animism is very common around the world, and there's evidence for it in the field of quantum physics. These people tune into the building's soul - but if you don't believe in animism it's weird.
