@Dan474834 What is it supposed to be called then, if in the sheet music it is written "gliss"? And screw you, this is the best I've heard this solo, asshole, stop complaining about the trill.
@Dan474834 would you care to inform us of how to bend the notes upward since it isn't called a glissando. I mean. i wish you were around to tell Gershwin when he wrote it in his compositions.
@ShadowChaosKrystal Haha I know. I'm a clarinet player as well as a trombone player. I've attempted a glissando like that without any luck; I know it's hard
WOW!!! FOR ALL OF THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS!! YOU'D HAVE TO BE A TRUE CLARINET PLAYER TO KNOW THAT THIS ACTUALLY DOES SOUND GOOD!!! I always wondered how to do that.
He makes it look so easy...

I used to be able to do a glissando on the clarinet. I was nowhere near as good at it as Mr. Green, but I know damn well it's not easy.

It's not a glissando, glissando is always down (it means "falling" in Italian). Oh, and the initial trill has to last longer and be quicker.

@kylestyyle987 If you check out Bernstein's version, the clarinetist at the beginning does it perfectly.

@Dan474834 Sure, by glissing down. Wait, no, you can't do that, BECAUSE IT'S WRITTEN WITH A GLISSANDO GOING UP.

@Dan474834 that's because he's Stanley Drucker! He was with the NYPhil for 62 years!

I'm learning this at the moment; that glissando is A LOT harder than he makes it sound. I'm SO jealous at the moment lol...

The very beginning is a bit rushed but aside from that it sounds great!

Paul,
Everything sounds fine to me; you can be an inspiration to a lot of young players who would like to play as well as you do.
