Your voice is fabulous!!! i love it. Id like to give some constructive criticism, i hope that's ok. Stop being so proper and just let it flow..... Your pronouncing I'll....isle. Just let it flow out of ya darling. I loved how you did it, but when you say *I'll* it sounds as if your trying to say it verses feeling it. I don't mean this negatively at all, im just giving my opinion.God bless ya and keep it up, ur talented.
Don't be so deliberate. I'd love to tell you to have a beer, or smoke a joint, but I'm afraid that you're mennonite... Not that there's anything wrong with that. All I'm saying is that it does't help you out that much, either way. You have good rhthym on the guitar. Let someone else sing for a while, until you master that rhythym.
Wow you really sound like a young Hank Snow. I'd love to hear your rendition of It Dont Hurt Anymore or movin On. I'm sure you'd nail em. Thanks for a terrific vid. Really heartfelt
Buddy, I think your rendition is great. You hit those notes just where they are supposed to be hit. I can hear old Hank Williams, but also Hank Snow. I look forward to watching all your videos. Thanks for helping us keep the music alive. -William
....my thoughts and prayers are with you and I am sorry for your loss. I love your cover....it is really wonderful.
I was on my last mile with my sweet yorkie, wolfgang ( 15 year old) and this song came on the song on the way to the vet....it was so really like a gift--It will now forever be my favorite and I will request it for my passing....
blessing to you....and much success with your music..
This is lovely. In the context of losing someone you love, the sad sound in your voice is appropiate. When my father died tragically in early 1995, the song that finally made me able to cry was "God Sleeps in a Caboose" by Stan Ridgway, It sort of made me imagine Dad going away in a train car like Abe Lincoln and that comfort helped much at my darkest. Keep up your talent, and I'm truly so sorry for your loss.
good job with keeping in sync, its really hard to play with a continous tempo while trying to keep your voice in tune with the song.
as for over pronunciating the lyrics, i dont think its that big of a concern, its what distinguishes you from other people and i think now a days people sound too much like each other.
oh, that is so beautyful !!!!! I heared the song first time now by the movie "brother where art thou" - and find it you presentating - thank you you made it very good !!
Your voice is perfect for this song. In my mind, I hear ladies with banjos singing "I'll Fly Away", but now I hear your voice and a guitar. Thanks for this treat.
loss of someone close is always tragic but as others have sai u will be reunited, u dod a great version of the song only thing is your voice could have had more of a drawl it was very proper sounding and that is a bluegrass sounding song
Wow, you have a fantastic voice. I'm so sorry that you lost your friend. But in Jesus Christ we do have the hope of joyful reunion. I hope you have peace and joy, and many happy memories of your friend.
"I'll Fly Away," written by Albert E. Brumley in 1929 [1], is a hymn most associated with American Baptists[2] and the Church of Christ. It is an optimistic song about an earthly death that leads to everlasting life in glory with Christ.
"I'll Fly Away" has been called the most recorded gospel music song [3], beginning with a recording by James and Martha Carson, the "Barn Dance Sweethearts" of WSB Atlanta, in 1946, followed two years later by the Chuck Wagon Gang in 1948.
Excellent Gav! It's a wonderful song and you did a great job on it... We do this one in church quite often, it's a great song. Sorry to hear of your loss... FrAnK (5*****)
There's an American movie called "O' Brother, Where Art Thou?" that came out a few years ago that features this song (among other great classics like "Man of Constant Sorrow"). I've loved it ever since. I came close to covering it myself here on YT. But you've given it a respectful and heart-felt interpretation that keeps this among the most beloved spiritual songs ever written. 5*
That was beautiful. Had to listen to it again. One of my old favorites of the Carters.

I lost a friend of mine who loved this song in 2005. I still miss him, a great deal.
This song, and "I saw the Light" was written by Albert E. Brumley, who was from Missouri.
My Uncle and Aunt, both new him personally, and I used to live probably within 6 miles of him.
So I feel a heavy connection, since they attended Ebenezer Baptist church in Monett, MO
I been there several times myself.
I long to move back tro my roots and pick this music.
