Yeah Damacio is a great fighter but he isn't even in the same league as Sudo yet. I do think in a few years Damacio will dominate the light weight (or feather weight) division eventualy but Genki is the most amazing technission in MMA PERIOD! Damacio made so many mistakes in this match it was only a matter of time before he got submited. Not to take anything away from Page but he got owned in this fight before the bell ever rang.

he was my favorite fighter. i loved how light-hearted he was about it. sure, the entrances were over the top, and his joking around was a bit much at times, but he had a very positive attitude, even when he lost.

grappling isn't fighting, it's more like wresling but more dangerous and more oriented to jujistu and ground techniques. Genki's kicks are not realy good and his punches too, but he is a good grappling master. Since he has nice ground techniques.
fighting is fighting... it doesnt matter how. a REAL fight involves all types of physical combat and all forms of martial arts, that includes grappling (jujutsu, judo, etc.)
I think he took out Royler Gracie by a KO. However, it's not about power but your positioning. I mean, Aoiki has a non-existent stand-up technique - but look at him. He only needs ground techniques in order to position himself to pound a fighter, to get the unanimous decision.

grappling isn't fighting, it's more like wresling but more dangerous and more oriented to jujistu and ground techniques. Genki's kicks are not realy good and his punches too, but he is a good grappling master. Since he has nice ground techniques.

fighting is fighting... it doesnt matter how. a REAL fight involves all types of physical combat and all forms of martial arts, that includes grappling (jujutsu, judo, etc.)

I think he took out Royler Gracie by a KO. However, it's not about power but your positioning. I mean, Aoiki has a non-existent stand-up technique - but look at him. He only needs ground techniques in order to position himself to pound a fighter, to get the unanimous decision.

A nagging neck injury. He said that he decided to retire after he saw a sign in a men's bathroom that read "one step forward" and he took that as a sign that he should retire and pursue other ventures (no joke).
