  • thank you very much, the only thing i dont understand is that in other tutorials for this song ( ones that arent as clear as yours) you see the person moving all the way up to eighth fret and stuff but in this one we dont do that?

  • @chriscampbell95 Either way you end up playing the same notes.

  • you have long fingers.. -___- mines are small its hard to play.

  • ok ok. so a power chords is the root, the fifth, and the octave root...so would like, C,F,C make sense?

  • @Xephrocrsith Yes, a C power chord is C and F. C is the root and F is the fifth (hence the name C5). You can stack the notes in any order and use more than one occurrence of each note. So for example, FC, CFC, FCFC, etc. See my book Fretboard Theory.

  • How the he'll do u move that fast jezz I guess I just need more practice since I just started anyways thanks for the vid:)

  • haa my band plays this song(: the guys are great... amazing song on the guitar i say..(:

  • thx u helped me :)

  • guitar is 5 times harder than singing

  • You can also use the F on the 8th fret. I think that it sounds better that way.

  • thanks men!!!

  • am i the only one who say blink 1 8 2 instead of blink 1 82?!

  • @kyleskillerlem0nade i always say blink 1 8 2 okay sometimes i say blink 1 82 but not that often :P

  • nice lesson, check out my channel for future guitar, saxophone, and piano lesson!

  • Good job ;-)

  • thank you

  • fuck i shouldnt have gotten an electric guitar....its freaking sucks!!!!!! i like the acoustic better!!! :(

  • Thanks man helped heaps

  • what about the scratch?

  • thx mate

  • cheeers =) very helpfull ^.^

  • Wow. Awesome. Do you reckon its just those 4 chords throughout the song?

  • Yes, the same four chords are used throughout the song. But each section of the song uses them in a slightly different order. You have a good opportunity here to try and figure out the rest by ear.

  • thank you very much the only video that relly help me =]

  • great video, thanks :)

  • There is palm mutes of the A power chord in between the G and F, where you're just leaving a gap.

  • dude you are good thank you for the vid it helped me!!!

  • when have you got the gain tone of your amp?

  • Not sure. Can't remember. I played this through a Line 6 Pod Pro. Probably using one of the high gain amp models like Modern High Gain or Rectified.

  • omg, this is perfect if ur a begginer, cos it shows the frets really close up, so if u dont know the chords u can just copuy his fnigers

  • epic vid!

  • it says that because its easier to learn basic chords with your thumb on the neck but you dont have to, riffs, most of the time the thumb is on the neck because you only to press indivdual or some strings not chord shapes but whatever works for you. fuck the guitar teachers if you want to take your thumb off sometimes do it.

  • you are the best :D thx for all

  • all the guitar experts say that you shouldn't bend your wrists when you play

how is it possible to not bend your wrists when you play power chords? i can't do it.

  • Should we tell all the guitar greats like Hendrix, Page, Clapton, and Van Halen that they're doing it wrong?

  • i'm not saying that they're wrong, i'm just wondering if there's something that i'm doing wrong.

  • It's OK to bend your wrist as long as it doesn't hinder your playing. Consider that many guitar players successfully use their thumb on the fretboard (like Hendrix). This isn't possible without bending your wrist back and wrapping your hand around the neck. But there's also nothing wrong with raising your guitar higher and straightening out your wrist. Whatever works.

  • Hi I like what you said, I have been doing it wrong for over 40 years, and am enjoying the experience.

Thanks for your postings..I enjoy them...even thieve some of them..keep up good work..and again thanks

  • u need a large hand

  • lol yeah you can, actually there is something that people dont realize when they start playing guitar, they dont pull their thumbs to the end when they play chords

  • i read in a book your not supposed to do that. it said you're supposed to keep your thumb in the neck.

  • i know, thats for classic shit, fuck that. look at tom delonge, he keeps his thumb on the neck only when he plays riffs.

im pretty sure u know dave grohl from the foo fighters, he never keeps his thumb on the neck when he plays chords.

you should do that when you do a solo, not a chord

  • playing on the 3rd string lol

  • good try

  • wrong but sound correct

  • he probly plays it by ear so its not wrong

  • thank you.

  • wrong

  • if you know how to play it why are you watching a tut?

  • ta cagadoi tu basura

  • incorrect

  • muse1234g if you know how to play this song right why are you looking up the guitar lessons for the song then? and oh my god 3 years of playing!!!!!! get a life

  • Why it might be wrong it stills sounds great, This is what i like about guitar, even tho you're not doing it 100% correct it still sounds nearly the same, and it's good not to sound like the album, good to have it a little different

  • it may be wrong but it still sounds good

  • WRONG

  • this is rong

  • so is your spelling

  • man this is wrong, it goes G5F5 C5x8 F5(high)x4 F5/E5x4 G5 x8

  • so what do you mean exactly? do you mean the 2nd chord is wrong? or what?

  • what is power chords, im a beginner in guitar @_@

  • thayt chord he shows the first ;)

  • a fifth chord

  • y does ur guitar sound so nice and mine sounds shit

  • its not as good?...

  • so, this is about where power chords came from, wut they're all about, and evrythn..i thought it's about playing and making it sound better with the C-A-G-E-D chord progression..woops..

  • heyyy i would like you to be my POWER CHORD GUITAR TEACHER...lol no no a joke a great work...:)

  • what guitar is that
