  • Is there a way to hear what you're playing as all I hear is a classical guitar.

Unless it is a copyright reason??

  • @RProgressive how can they withdraw this because of copyright? as long as you dont publish the song on an album, and it is yours (or if youre authorized to use it), you should be free to cover it as much as you'd like...

  • Nice Job!

  • RProgressive, this is a f**king awesome interpretation of Tony's work, you must upload more of his classic pieces.I have been telling folks for some time now that Mr. Banks is tremendously underatted. I play guitar and a little keys and Genesis has inspired me to go out and buy a new keyboard in the future to learn their music. This helps me quite a bit. Thanks!!

  • It was sometime ago i heard this song.

It is a brilliant song and you play it amazingly well !!

    Thanks for that.

  • Absolutely brilliant! What can I say! I had no idea he did all that left hand stuff that the guitar does. It makes sense so much better being able to see the way you articulated every part like that. Once again, brilliant my friend. If you ever come to Australia drop in for a cuppa!

  • Wow. Just... Wow. Wow.

    Wow.

  • bravo ,beautiful ,great energy, thank you

  • I wander lonely as a cloud... till they came upon this soul of mine...

  • this is the studio album... we, the fans cant be take by surprise... first I thougth it was something live...buuuuh

  • brilliant!!!!!

  • super brilliant... Tony has the hands....that God gave him!

  • Tony Banks' created a masterpiece. Thanks for posting!

  • veramente bravo in una suite di Lamb indimenticabile

  • Excellent job!

  • WOW, this is great!

  • bravo bravo bravo

  • Very nice from you to show us the tecnique of playing those fantastic keyboard parts by Tony Banks, thanks! Amazing record, and very good job, please post more from this album.

    Gonna try that.

  • this is OUT OF CONTROL

    in a good way

    really good!!

  • I wish Tony kept playing like this in the later Genesis era. Good Job on this.

  • I never tough that this song was so complex on keyboards!

Man, you're so great...a real pro!

  • man, where in brazil are you from?

  • São Paulo.

  • This is an awesome transcription! Incredible how underrated Tony Banks is, but I'm sure his impact will be felt further on, this is too good to not last forever.

My hats are off to your interpretation!

  • Gives me chills every time...fantastic job!

  • This is great

  • Tony Banks is so underrated!!! listen to this music!!!

  • Very nice transcription.

IMHO, minute 5:07 the chord is a C#min7 (root position) and minute 5:12 the chord is C7+ (root position)....I hear that B note..

Also try, minute 0:49 to play an Ebmin (third position) and minute 1:15 keep B as bass note of the chord.

Unfortunately not visible the variation of the double hand arpeggio.

    BRAVO.

  • este es un muy buen tema muchos recuerdos genesis es lo mejor

  • awesome

  • it would interest me what keyboards, and what kind of sound you use (especially for the piano-like passages, the "you better run and join your brother john"--parts!),-it is obviously not the same keyboard TB used but the sound is very similar

  • I'm using a software called Sonik Synth 2.

  • and what is the sound you use for "e-piano" (from 01:34 onwards)? is it a special sample of Tony´s RMI-epiano, or some more ordinary sound that just sounds similar in that context? i really look for a sound like this and still haven´t found anything better than a "wurlitzer"-sound!! (tony used it also on the Trick Of The Tail and Wind&Wuthering, )

  • Just goes to prove the old saying that..."No one's indispensable" !

  • Comment removed

  • this is quality work - flawless and accessible---

  • I see you have a Korg MS2000, may I ask how you made the sound you had. I have one and am not fully immersed in forming sounds.

  • Olá,

estou usando um software chamado SONIK SYNTH 2 para tocar o solo desta música, e não os sons do Korg MS 2000.

    Abraços.

  • could you be so funny to try international lingua??

  • I hafta get up early in tomorrow morning.

Came across this video just now.

Started to get up to go get my Rugginenti transcription of this from out of in the living room.

Watched this guy's hands doing what i figured Tony'd used cross-hand for, and promptly said out loud "shit, man --it's 2am.. not now, no way!" ;-)

I sure hope Tony gets a new classical album out soon. I love chilling out to "Seven"..

  • sei un grande

  • What software did you use to emulate the RMI?? Maybe the Nostalgia by Zero-G?

  • Hehe... pensei que esta seria a primeira pergunta que me fariam.

Poderia ter usado o Nostalgia, mas usei um timbre do Sonik Synth 2, pois tinha como adicionar um Phaser.

    Abraço.

  • i dont know about him but with my tribute band we got the perfect rmi sound with an old roland jv1080 + "vintage synth" expansion card. not expensive and very close to the original.

  • my doubts for even the best tribute band to Genesis find the most difficult in the parts fo Banks...he is the only one who can make it... sorry!

  • What keyboards are you using? Roland, Hammond, Moog?

  • Nessa música eu usei softwares de Hammond, RMI e ARP Pro Soloist, controlados via MIDI.

  • good work! And fascinating, from a musician's standpoint, to be able to see the hand positions. thanks

  • Tony plays such intricate lines that use ALL of the notes in a particular mode or scale; So very different from most other keyboardists. I find his work challenging, both from the writing perspective and the technical aspect, as I find that I often experience difficulty in getting my hands, which are fairly large, to "fit" into some of his "small" spaces !!! Much easier to play Wakeman !:P!:P Peace:)

  • damn, son, awesoeme.

  • I own the complete score to Lamb, and Selling England. I had to order them from overseas. It was worth every penny. I can play several very insane songs, NOT as good as Tony but, gettin therE!!!!

  • Where did you get the scores from?

  • Yeah, me too -- exactly! ^_^

I've got the Lamb and Foxtrot books from -- had a hard time deciding between Foxtrot and SEBtP. Next time around i'll get it or NC.

The Rugginenti books are worth the $, and "Genesis: Rock Score" is a nice one to have, too. I used to have the combined W&W / ATOTT book but lost them during a divorce. Don't miss the first wife, but miss that damn book! ;-)

We shouldn't get discouraged. Even Tony said he probably can't play Mad, Man Moon anymore!

  • (Sorry, was replying to Terragen here..)

  • Bloody hell!! That was incredible!!! Tony Banks is a bona fide keyboard genius and you are exceptionally, ridiculously talented too! Especially if you did that by ear, as i don't think i've ever seen any sheet music for early Genesis songs that were actually correct. What's next? Does the world need another Genesis tribute band? If so, give me a call, i drum (still got my hair, though)

  • Obrigado!!!

Banda de tributo ao Genesis? Acho que a The Musical Box já faz bem o trabalho... hehehe...

  • Of course! Anyway, i'm not sure if i can afford the bus fare from London to Brazil once a week ;-)

I look forward to more (how about Robbery, Assault And Battery?)

  • please heeeelp, some parts are tooo fast to realize, are there any slow motions in the net? or the sheet music?

    thx for help!!!!

  • Perfect!

  • Are U "Capacitor76?"

  • Não, não sou "Capacitor76".

  • Very nicely done!!!You really show how intricate that piece of music is,,,Bravo Its nice to see people that appreciate good old prog rock

  • played really great and also recorded. do you have the sheet music for this? if so, where you have? I try to cover the track, but some parts are to fast to realize. can you help? thx

  • This is simply fucking amazing ...

  • Uncanny ear. One of my favourite Genesis songs. Tony did some amazin shit. FANTASTIC performance you did here.

  • WOW - holy shit man that was just fabulous- amazing technical playing skills & awesome presentation - out of this world !! thanks for posting you have a great talent

  • God Damn, dude!!!

    How did you learn this?!!!

  • Incredible...!!!

    Are you Tony?

  • FANTASTIC! Please, do more!!

  • Excellent performance!!!

    Unbelievable.

    Keep going.

  • Great perfomance!

    and real suonds!!!

what did you use for the ARP?

  • Awesome work....5 stars

  • I'm still shaking my head...unbelievable...keep 'em coming
