Really like your reviews, I was playing these old school Castlevania games back when I was a wee tike myself. Never could get through any of them till I was older. Watching these castle reviews makes me want to play these again. Do you know if those after market NES, SNES, gaming machines are any good? Anyway, great reviews!

Thankyou. After market Nes and Snes machines work? Yes and No, they play the games but the color is off. They also don't play all the games. I would check some pwn shops or vintage video game stores for working older Nes and Snes systems.

AVGN is a character and over acts on purpose for laughs. But I agree, some games like this and TMNT people who didn't play them Immediately hate the game. Still thats why ya got me to do this stuff. I review good and bad games, but I present each review, the best way I can.

@Angemon4 true! besides the stupid cryptic shite, and the stupid "empty" shops that you have to throw the holy water on the floor or wall to actually buy something :( the first time i played, i thought it was just an empty room. when i watched AVGN's video, i didnt think it was good, but when i actually played it, i thought it was great! if i ever review this game, i would give it a 9/10

I actually like thike this game more than a lot of people seem to. I even think the concepts are worth revisiting. The idea that the clock is ticking, and the dreary but calm countryside that leaves you uneasy could turn upside down in a flash of lightning, turning day into night, with all manner of horrors clawing their way from the earth and the shadows to horribly rip your soul from your body...epic. I also like gathering clues, exploration, and finding new towns a lot

I like the concept, but I think the execution is... weak. For one thing, all the villagers flat out lie to you (IGA confirmed this was the case). Also, using hearts to buy thing bothers me for some reason. I mean, what was wrong with using the money bags from the first one as currency? Also, you have to collect the hearts to gain EXP, other game, even for the time, just required you to kill things for EXP. The lack of bosses also kinda gets me. Only three, easy as pie bosses in the whole game.

yeah i did. i hope konami does a remake and do it correctly. the night and day transitions really annoys me. there is no explantions what direction for the player to go. buying items with hearts? what?!!! i like all castlevania games except this one.

Yeah but what you said are all minor gripes. Not being able to see where you're going like in n64vania would naturally be a bigger issue than waiting a few seconds every now and then or using weird currency. It is possible to beat the game without a walkthrough if you have the manual and look for clues. The clues/books don't lie.

This game is underrated. I, probably like most true Castlevania fans, enjoy this game. If there's a disappointing Castlevania, it'd probably be Harmony of Dissonance (music sucks ass).

i've just finished the game some hours ago, and it's so much fun!

i cannot understand the ppl's saying, that it should be like castlevania 1. is it really about the hard riddles? i wont agree.

i mean.. its so cool! you can walk all over Transilvania, vist towns, buy stuff, and killing monster that much you want and whenever you want.

in my opinion, this game is woth every freaking penny!

This game is harder then it should be and mostly for all the wrong reasons. The people aren't giving you clues, there just lieing. Some of the platforms are place in ways that make the jumps unfair, and the invisible pits do grate on the nerves. As I have said many times before, I like the concept, but not the execution of said concept.

He is. In the story segment, Simon was saying that he remembered his grandfather's story about Trevor Belmont. He also said that he remembered how his Grandfather fought to free his father from Dracula. That's basically the plot of the second GB game, Belmont's revenge.

Castlevania 3 is on the VC in Europe (and maybe also Australia), but not North America. Similar situation with Rondo of Blood, it's out for the VC in Japan but not anywhere else. Konami of America needs to get off their butts and release them here already! I'm honestly surprised they didn't release them onto the VC just before the releases of "Order of Ecclesia" and "Judgment."
