mitternacht means midnight... and Bethsta only has half of the lyrics, plus some of the chorus is in latin... i ain't a fan of battle star galactica... i thought this was the true music viedo...
I'm loving this song! ENGLISH LYRICS: When the Gondolas carry sorrow and stop the dead's complaining that sits deep in the back of their gray necks.
When the hour begins to strike coldly, thick swathes of mist touch you and softly Frozen blood in your veins laces your fear. You hear your heart in your throat and the bells ring; it is night A place like the underworld in t...he night
A place like the underworld in the night Souls in fog Midnight
E Nomine (a twist of the Latin phrase In nomine meaning "in the name", where e nomine means "out of the name") is a German musical project, formed in 1999, by producers Christian Weller and Friedrich "Fritz" Graner.
Oh! A German song here! It's not the kind of music that I usually like but the combination of it with Battlestar Galactica works well to create a dark atmosphere.
This is THE bsg trailer. Wow. A note on the German: "Wenn die Gondeln Trauer tragen" is the German title of "Don't Look Now": a man's two daughters drown in Venice, and he's completely tormented by every sight of the city, but unable to tear himself away. Partly erotic, very chilling. Brings Baltar+#6 to mind.
Flippin' Awesome. I was so excited when I saw the title of the video because my friend really got me into this band and I loved this song. I never thought of putting it with Battlestar, but it fits freaking amazingly. Editing was really good and I loved the high impact video going with the climatic moments of the song. Awesome!
*smirks* Doesn't always mean that. I guess I didn't understand the lyrics, that's a downer for me. But I liked the almost 80's feel to the music. And your editing is excellent too. Big bangs with loud points in the song always makes me happy. :)
I keep that in mind. German/Latin song parts don't go well with BSG music vids. *g* Thanks for the compliment on the editing for I wasn't quite sure it worked. :)
No, I wouldn't say that German/Latin songs don't work. It's just a problem with us English only folk. We like to understand what we're listening too. :P
I gotta admit though, the song is kinda growing on me. Lol.
I just added a translation to the video info. I translated word by word, so it probably sounds weird, but at least your can get a picture of the song's content.
my arse do we - i <3 rammstein and he's germal. Especially since i think that if we understood what we were listening to, i doubt we'd like it as much ;)
If you've ever translated rammsteins lyrics you'd know what i mean
I do know what you mean and I agree with you. Enjoying music doesn't really mean you have to know what it is about.
However, when someone uses a song for a music video an editor will most likely think the lyrics (if there are lyrics) of the song are appropriate for the video as well. And if we don't understand them, we don't get a bit of what the editor is trying to show us in the music video.
