  • hey anyone can reply this is importent cuz i want one. can a BABY that size live in a ten gallon while i save up for a biger tank?

  • @beyondorginal for a week is ok but try at wallmart for a large storage box

  • huuummm uv light simulates the sun producing vitamin d3 a bosc monitor is a day dwelling rep that basks in the heat ie spot light whilst doing so the uv should be on combined, u turning it on at night messes his day night cycle the vivarium should be dark at night uv on in day as the sun ...........................

  • docile equals petrified. stop handling it. at this rate, I'll bet you it never sees it's first birthday.

  • ow did u get him to be so docile, mine hides when i go in room with him

  • they need a costume built cage you lizard will boe so mea if he is not in a costume built cage

  • DONT buy a reptile because its small and cute.. know your stuff before you get them! AND have there cage ready before they are brought home. this is sad to see and you pretty much have nothing right, because of you it gives reptile owners a bad name

  • when they are babies they need at least a 40 gallon

  • could i keep a baby sav in a tank meant for a adult beardy

  • I had a baby Savannah monitor, but he died after a week or so of owning him.He was already doing bad when we bought him, he got better for a while then he just died.

  • Ok mine won't eat and it's still alive, wtf do I make it do so It can eat a cricket. It hasn't ate since I put it in my house. It was running an healthy at the breeders place. maybe it just don't like me or the enclosure. It must last at least a week and a half or so before I can consider purchasing it something new. It plays, sticks his tongue out, can be handled, sleeps, hides, drinks but doesn't eat at all. Been a couple days almost a week on monday. What do I do...

  • do savs need a high tank or a reasonably high tank because I'll be building a custom one in a few months and i want to know if they like to climb branches and stuff (the cage wil be 2 meters long and 1 meter wide). So yeah, can anyone give me a rough idea of how high it should be?

  • Only 1% of savannah monitors kept in captivity make it past their 1st year, because most people don't know how to raise them properly.

  • *sand can kill small ones try turf

  • Alright kid your hole tank is crap. It's way too small, you weren't holding him right. You shouldn't have sand bedding because in some cases they eat the sand and it kills them. Also he only needs one cave the log makes no sense. Stop trying to say you know about what your talking about because you don't

    Ps:I love savannah monitors

  • @willmockingbird first of all, having more then one hide is a good thing, and the log can be used to climb on for enrichment, that tank is a bit small for the baby but its a baby and can do well in that set up, its coco fibre not sand. sand only kills if there is no where that he can soak which is provided please stop posting coments when you think you know what your talking about? try researching facts before posting idiotic comments.

  • does that kid have painted toenails???

  • OMG HES SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hmmmm voice of a gay homo boy nice

and evirment is shit and tank is to small put the poor thing down stop torturing it

  • @Fallout3dude27 lol its small its growing. he can build the cage into it. but i personally dont give him a cage i let him run around but i keep the safety up tho so nothing to worry bout. and i gave him a 6x6 pool in one of the rooms with warmed water.

  • Where did u get him?

  • Where did u get it at?

  • cute!

  • Lol I did not know that savs could eat dog food lol!

  • and you shouldnt be feeding him dog food at that age you retard its very fatening and has no nuetrition at all same with meal worms you should be feeding him crickets, and roaches untill hes old enough for raw meats and mice

  • @dickpepperfield101 its funny to see them eat crickets!

  • @pinky4534 hah i know it

  • if you feed it dog food it with plump your savanna up but hes so cute

  • you should build him a custome cage .......nice svannah i love them when they yung

  • Lol he had a brick in the other cage

  • your an idiot keeping uv on at night! keep it on during the day and keep it on a regular daytime schedual a 12 hour cycle

  • do u feed him every day?

  • I want one but my mom doesn't like the thought of having to feed them mice.... :[

  • @Colorfultoothbrushes your feeding him pre-killed mice, basicly ur taking a dead frozen mouse, warming it up for 20 min in hot water then feeding it to ur monitor, show her some videos, hell theirs nothing discusting, its gone in like 3 minutes

  • By uv you mean UVB? If so you should be having it on during the day or your reptiles won't have a photoperiod "night and day" use the UVB and basking during the day and a ceramic heat emitter during the night

  • Can you tame these guys?

  • You got it at a PERFECT size.

This lizard is ganna be your best friend.

  • @twistedclown5150 scorpion

  • how old?

  • so tiny!, lol.....

  • no temper?

  • hay dumbass thay dont eat dog food it will make him or her sick

  • @SuperKasper92 hey they can eat it and it wont make them sick

  • He will not stay that small for long, being that young he will spend a lot of time hiding as they do in the wild from predators, then as they get older they get bolder get ready for him to take over your bed room!

  • actually u only need a 6x3x3 for savanhas do reasearch but 6x4x4 is better though

  • savannahs need 55 gallon tanks

  • @crouchjosh4 wow you really dont know any thing about savs they will have to have atleast a 4X4X6

  • @lizardboy94 at babby's there not ment to be in glass for one, 2 they need a hell alot of room for the tempratures they need a big gradient for warm side cool side.. and it makes them more comfertable i used to have a sav but i sold it when i moved to england.

  • @lizardboy94 actually 6ft to 8 ft man

  • @lizardboy94

4x4x2. The depth of the enclosure will get larger with the more monitors in the tank. a 55 for a baby, 100+ for sub adults and adults. Fully grown adults a custom made vivarium for very expensive vision cage.

  • @lizardboy94 yah but you can have at least a 77 gallion not a 55 but i like your idea get him a big one so he has a nice place to stay

  • @lizardboy94 no for a baby sav you will need atleast a 55 gallon is what they meant you idiot and btw a fully frown sav will need a cage thats 6x6x4 smart ass

  • @lizardboy94 when its an adult it'll need at least a 8x4x4

  • @lizardboy94 do you think i could put a adult single female sav in a 5Lx4Wx4H as there smaller

  • @lizardboy94 nope they need 8x4x4 vivs for ONE adlut and thay should not be in glass tanks..

  • @lizardboy94 you mean 6x4x4

  • @lizardboy94 neigther do you they need at least 8x4x4

  • @lizardboy94

lolol its actually suppose to be 9x2x4

they.. get,,, up,,, to,,, 5.,, foot,,, long...

  • @lizardboy94

4x4x6 really? So hes gunna have 1 foot to walk forward... probably less then that.

THEY GET UP TO 5-6 FOOT LONG

  • @nodokargra your wrong he will be about 3-5 to 4 feet not 5 or 6

  • @TheYamaha4Life

    Thank you Mister dundee

  • @crouchjosh4 Savannah Monitors will outgrow a 55 gallon tank within a year.

  • @Snowfox17 it will out grow a 55 gallon within a few months LOL

  • @crouchjosh4 bahahhahah your an idiott that thing needs a whole freakin room

  • awesome moniter dude

  • where did you buy it?

  • he looks so calm especially for a baby

  • aww so precious! lol , you should call it "Tiny"

  • dude ur skink needs a bigger tank its so small

  • Thats a cute little sav man.

  • I would change that to dirt son

  • Aww! It's cute.

  • god damn that thing is small

  • thats definitely NOT what she said! :P

  • haha

  • oh? then how big Is your savannah monitor really? just say "it is ___" and i will be happy... oh whate, i'm never happy.

  • its all good man but really hes full grown now

  • how can a savannah grow that fast in a year, or was this from a wile ago, not a year?

  • yea its from like a amost 2 years ago plus dude he eats alot of rats and dog food and thats why he so huge now lol

  • oh now i see,so, i should feed my lizard big things to make him grow faster?

  • no feed him alot of the lil stuff and when he gets of size feed him a rat

  • oh now i see, thanks!

  • @mermaid5634

do not feed small monitors any live rodents or pre killed rodent for about a year. There digestive systems are not made to handle large quantity's of fat and fur. feed a fully grown sav. 2 small rodents a week max! They love eggs, ground chicken and turkey, lots of insects(especially roaches), and crickets. They can also eat other reptiles but it is not recommended.

  • imaging when he grows up heel be a killing machine of mice and rats

  • i just got one today.

    :]

baw hes so tiny compaired to mine

mine is sitting on muh shoulder :B

  • how long does it take for it to grow lets say about 2 feet

  • how much does it cost the little itty bitty one.

  • i av a savannah bout 2.5 feet not very tamed lookin to get rid of it anyone interested?

  • i'd be interested, i live in nebraska, of the us. i have a cage that would fit him and i breed rats and mice, and have other reptiles. i'd be more than able to take care of him =)

  • sorry i av rehomed him now :) i live too far away i think anyway

  • oh, it's ok. i expected you to be too far away anyways, thought i'd try my luck anyways though. =P

  • were do you get savannah monitors

  • you can put a sav in a 10 gallon wow....

  • holy shit 10,000th view!!!

  • Why would you turn UV on at night? That makes absolutely no sense at all. Read up on UV rays and you might learn something.

  • dont feed them meal worms when there small.

  • When there babys they look like desert iggs becuase of the spots!!

  • mine is bout 200 times bigger

  • great estimation from baby to adult lol

  • u need a bigger tank

  • Are you kidding? The size of the tank is fine.

  • are u retarded the set up totally sucks shit

  • for uro's ur supposed to have uv on in the day and of at night......uv rays comes from the sun so in the day u shud hav it on

  • u do leave them on al night listend again wtf u will fucking kill them

  • I would reply but i honestly have no clue what you are trying to say

  • do u leave lights on there tanks 24 hours aday ???????? couse it sounds like that in the vid and that will kill them

  • cuuute

  • at the other vid he was huge

  • i actually got some vids up of mine. if you want to you can check him out. just go to my page or whatever. if you do decide to go check out some of my videos. then i thank you cuz ive only had them up for like three days and no one has commented yet. well nice monitor.

  • why do you turn the u.v. on at night?

  • i just got mine two days ago and it wont eat crickets at all, did yourse respond to food instantly or did it take him a while. and with the water, is yourse drinking cuz mine drank a little bit but he stoped. and to let you know mine is the same age as yourse, so i was a little worried with him being so small. and anyone reading this can respond to, thanks

  • your suposed to hav the uv on in the day, the sun DONT COME OUT AT FUCKING NITE TIME!

  • aww how cute :)

  • That little lizard is awesome!

  • Yes, a bigger cage is a good idea. I have my Spike in a 180 gallon acrylic aquarium with undertank heater and multiple lamps with UVB. He is 24 inches. I might give him one of my closets later on.

  • i also have a 75 Wat heat lamp! but its for my bearded dragon.

  • in a few years that little cute thing will become a huge and pretty scary meat eater...

  • wow look how small he was ....

    now look at him

  • why do you turn on uv light at night. you need to have the uv light on during the day and off at night so they can sleep. i have turtles, 1 foot long tortoise, bearded dragon, kingsnake, fishies, and i recently caught a frog but forgot about him and he shriveled uped and died. i take good care of them, but i totally forgot about the dang frog for some reason. btw, i want to get one
