i was driving through bc last summer with a couple buddies. it was like 1 am and we were going by pen looking for a place to camp. ended up lost out of town so we threw down our sleeping bags on a beach we found on the east side of the lake. woke up and there was old naked people stepping over us that turned out to live there. they were just there building fucken little huts and docks and shit out of the sand. ended up campin out with them for 3 days. 3 mile beach. check it out sometime !

basically surrey with lakes! Driven thru Westbank lately? HUGE Real Canadianstore, huge Staples, huge Canadian Tire, the list goes on....the Okanagan all used to love is GONE for good! Terrible now!
the stores arent huge here dipshit !! it is far beter that surrey!! the okanogan is still here for people who have true love for it!! it means you just liked it before or you are trying to be cool or somshit !! i will agree on one thing some of the people are redicualous crackheads but the senery has and will never change

As for Vernon, the Real Canadian SuperStore there has a BIGGER sq. footage area than the one in Kelowna !! And Vernon's Home Depot is AS big as Kelowna's. Population of Kelowna? 110,000 people. Population of Vernon? 44,000 people. I rest my case. As for the scenic views, there wont be much left soon. Take a look at the development happening!
True enough, ive met my share of crazies in Penticton. If you really enjoy the Okanagan though, it will never really go away. I love the hiking available, and even though it gets pretty crowded in the summer, late spring and early fall are awesome. The summer is great too, you just need to overlook the tourists and find your own place to enjoy.
