oh my lord where do i begin.. it uses 10x the memory of xp but has no more features.. the few things it does have make it go wrong more often, it has a shitty installer, it has a shitty memory managemnt system. its full of bugs (I spend all day fixing people) . its actually MISSING things that xp had. it uses a insane amount of hard drive space. it has WAY to many services running, and they are WAY to dependent on each other. its menu system is vastly counter-intuitive compared to xp.

of coarse it's going to use more memory, it does not mean it's shit. the installer is not shitty. i find the partitiner pretty good and it installed on my pc within 30 mins. if you have a 250GB of HD space then taking away 12GB isn't the end of the world. i have a quad core, 3GB system and i have no problems and i see a MAST inprovment over vista

try this,, from a COLD BOOT. start your pc, open office, type "hello world" save it on the desktop. shut down fully.

sure we have comparable pc's. i won't be on my pc till later tongiht, on the laptop right now and it boots in 15 seconds thanks to arch linux (its in my vids) , so that wouldnt be a fair comparison lol

ok wow...kid, have you even used a full retail version of windows 7? i know you haven't even thou you'll probably answer yes to that question. currently, i am running seven processes...thats alot less than vista. second, theres not one bug i havent even had a windows explorer error. the people you "helped" were prob trying to use windows 7 on a mac. and it takes up only 10 gb of space. lol...go back to windows 3.0 where you belong...

not sure what a chequing account is, but from a fresh install which i just did and after all updates there are only 7 processes running right now. you can't say shit about an OS that you have never ran full retail or ever owned. just because you can read and look at pictures of an operating system on the internet doesnt mean you know all these things about it. i will never write a review or judge anything without using the full retail version of it

setting up dual boot is a simple process: windows installed first: 1) make partitions for fedora , / and swap 2) lets say windows is in /dev/sda1 , root in /dev/sda2 and swap in /dev/sda3, if u want to keep ur windows bootloader ,install fedora bootloader in root (/dev/sda2) 3) reboot , only windows will boot 4) download easyBCD , 5)add new entry in windows bootloader, where the root patition is partition# 2 (or /boot if u made 1 6) reboot windows 7) select windows or fedora 8) done

NOTE : DO nOT install bootloader in

/dev/sda this is the MBR ( fedora 12 is alpha)

it is safe to install fedora bootloader when fedora 12 becomes final, it will add windows automatically in the bootloader

if u made the mistake of installing fedora bootloader in /dev/sda , or want to restore windows bootloader, follow this steps:

1) start EasyBCD

2) click on "manage bootloader"

3) click " write MBR"

done

this will overwrite the MBR and restore windows bootloader

Dual boot is not so hard if you install windoze first THEN Fedora since windoze has annoying way of thinking that it's the only OS on system so bootloader doesn't recognize Fedora.

Empathy supports voice/video for xmpp, google talk and msn, pidgin only gained support for voice and video for xmpp with 2.6.

Also empathy is much more modular than pidgin, if you don't use msn for example you don't need to have that installed. Empathy also has a much better api allowing other devs to integrate im into their applications with just a few lines of code.

It has geolocation support and also supports adium webkit chat themes. Overall its a much cleaner solution than pidgin.
