Like how you did the drain. I did mine the almost the same way, with the textile fabric. My only problem with yours is the lack of soil on top of the fabric for grass to grow. Would have dug a few inches lower.

@drsmith33 About 2 inches of soil on top. Plenty for our area to grow grass. The more soil the less intake into the french drain system from the top area. Some french drains are installed way to deep and never see water at all, which is a common problem in the area we service.

@Classicdrainage In my area, Cincinnati, two inches just causes the grass to burn up easy there in the summer. I did bout 4 to 6 inches. It is not made to drain immediately, just to dry my yard out. Use to stay too wet to walk on for at least two weeks after a good rain. Can walk on it the day after now. Hey, everyone has there own way.

You should have created a river bed with rocks, etc..., It would have been more attractive and also it would have looked natural.

@dimitrigregorieff. River bed would have been too much hassle for the customer to mow and trim around, not to mention the added expense. As for being more attractive, it would have looked very strange in this yard as there is no landscaping to create that nice professional landscape look.

@rgsd1969. Drains to front street curb area, which flows into storm drain system intake. Nice that it was there.
