I'm in Croydon, in Melbourne. This was filmed in Dandenong. Where are you? We should hook up for sure, I'm currently building a rigid-framed kart with a Ducar(Chinese) 125cc 4 stroke. About 2 weeks off driving.
Check some of my other vids out, I get to drive my brother's sandrail often. My kart just fits into my single car garage/workshop. The kart is currently in the midst of a bike engine install.
Haha 530 would be crazy, but that's someone else. The 13hp in this kart is broken already, but I've got a 400 road bike motor replacement. About 40hp and 6 speed will be a bit different.
I think I'll accept your challenge. Planning to buy a bike soon. 250 2 stroke is exactly what I'm after, but I'd use like a 500 4 stroke. I also want it to be watercooled - no airflow behind the seat. Just depends what I can find/afford.
Yeah, all home made. Originally just a gravity kart that I built 18 months ago. The engine has only been in for a few months, and has blown up already.
Torque converter would be nice, but drive issues are the least of my problems now. Blew a golf ball sized hole in the crank case on the weekend. Don't know whether to source another 13hp, or just buy a motor bike and rebuild with the atv wheels I've got.
could the tires be any smaller?.

bucketead 2 years ago
what cc motor is that, im when i make a billy kart and get bored of it im gunna put a 150cc motor in it.
ConnorX024X 2 years ago
390cc. Industrial motor, a bit gutless and no gearbox.
aussiekartman 2 years ago
there is no way thats a 390cc
kmkhouse 2 years ago
Sorry, you're right it's 389cc.
It's an industrial motor, and will never rev & sound like a 400cc bike. 3600 vs 7000rpm, and a gearbox make a big difference.
aussiekartman 2 years ago
You can mess with the governor, and carb, those will make alot of difference...
Theres a huge amount of after makret parts for these motors too

Sure is. I couldn't find a clutch to fit my 1" output shaft with a sprocket, that's why it's all v-belt driven.

haha awesome go kart man
at the start you looked like you were the stig but who test drives go karts :P
