My friends persuaded me to see this movie (online). And I actually liked it. Considering the low expectations I had and that I watched it in a different language so I enjoyed it :)

The movie screwed up for being a time travel film and it is stupid to mix cartoony CGI with live action like that. Keep it in mid-evil times, make it all CGI and introduce a new antagonist, maybe someone that's actually competent.

I hate when movies mix live action movies with cartoon style like this - like that Garfield movie, even stuart little to an extent (although the acting between the live action cast and the voice cast was oddly ok with that film). I just hate it, they should either make all the cast the cartoony style or make the characters look real (sort of like when editors put someone into a place via green screen and they change the lighting and add effects to make it match the scene - but for the style).

I sort of never liked watching Smurfs, but I so loved Winnie the Pooh. Because Winnie had that dark cinematography sometimes, and innocent things were sometimes potrayed as awful monsters. And it worked. The feel of Winnie was always good. For the love of all that's sweet, leave Gummi Bears alone hollywood. Leave it alone!

As someone who was a fan of the smurfs cartoon as a kid and who used to be scared of Gargamel (misspelled),seeing the live-action Gargamel REALLY creeped me out for some reason - perhaps because he represents this kidnapper/molester of children... *shudder*

Um...I couldn't help but notice that bit from "Wild Thing" by Ton Loc that played during the trailer, and I can't help but remember that the exact same song was used in the trailer for "Garfield". Why is that? Do all kid's movie trailers now contain an ironic use of "Wild Thing"? And why do I remember the "Garfield" trailer so clearly? WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME???????????????

I loved the Smurfs as a kid, eventhough I was not from that generation, it was my mum who showed the cartoon to me. I also had Smurf toys, they were so adorable. But seriously, this movie looks like dogcrap. Also, I'm so disappointed NPH was involved in it. Why Neil, why???
